Can you help support our friends at In The Mix Project to help bring back their youth club in Wiveliscombe? 👇

📢 Help us bring Wiveliscombe Youth Club back in 2027!

For over ten years, In The Mix Project has provided a safe and welcoming youth club for young people in Wiveliscombe - a place to meet friends, try new activities, build confidence and talk to trusted youth workers.

Unfortunately, despite considerable fundraising and partnership work, we have not secured enough funding to continue the club into the new academic year. We have therefore made the difficult decision to temporarily pause the club.

We want this to be a pause, not a permanent closure.
Our aim is to raise £4,500 before the end of the year to help Wiveliscombe Youth Club return during 2027. Donations will support essential costs including youth workers, venue costs, activities, equipment, refreshments, insurance and safeguarding.

Applications are now open for a ⭐FREE⭐ BFI Film Academy South West Introductory Course taking place in 📍Minehead this October.

Young people aged 16 - 19 with a passion for film and television are being invited to apply for an intensive week of practical filmmaking, masterclasses and industry insight, delivered by Somerset Film.

Running from 23rd–30th October 2026, the BFI Film Academy South West Introductory Course will give aspiring filmmakers the opportunity to learn directly from screen professionals, work with professional equipment and collaborate to make their own short films.

No previous filmmaking experience or academic qualifications are required.

Our Young Carers Group is a free weekly session for young people in school years 5+ who take on caring responsibilities at home.

This is a safe, supportive space where young carers can unwind, take a break and enjoy fun activities like climbing, scooting, skating, movie nights and pizza making. We focus on fun, choice and relaxation. Activities are guided by what the young people want to do each week. 😊

Sessions run every Tuesday 4-6pm at Minehead EYE. The first session is Tuesday 15th September. 🗓

Free transport can be arranged if needed.

is about recognising what could be missing from our local community if Minehead EYE and other charities and organisations weren’t there.

Who would be there when a young person needs someone to talk to?

Who would check in when things aren’t going well?

Who would provide a safe place to go, a trusted person to turn to and support to help them find a way forward?

Our work goes way beyond what happens inside our youth and community centre.

Every week, our youth workers are out in schools and communities across West Somerset, delivering targeted youth support, outreach, wellbeing support, youth clubs and projects for those who need a little extra support.

As the heartbeat of youth services in West Somerset, we believe every young person deserves someone in their corner who believes in them and wants to help them succeed.

And you, our fantastic community, can help keep that support going!

We’re currently looking for volunteers to join our friendly team as:
⭐ Youth Club Volunteers
⭐ Maintenance Volunteers
⭐ Centre Assistant Volunteers

Whether you have a couple of hours to spare, practical skills to share, or simply want to give back to your community, you could make a meaningful, lasting difference in the lives of local young people.

⭐ FREE Youth Club sessions starting this week! ⭐

That's right, all of our West Somerset Youth Clubs are free of charge until October half term. 🎉

Whether you’ve been before or you’re completely new to us, you’re very welcome to come along for two hours of fun, friends, games and plenty of laughs with our qualified youth workers. 🙌

A few important details for you:

👉 All Youth Clubs are starting this week apart from Williton, which will start next week (first session Thurs 17th September)

👉 Porlock Youth Club is back at the rec after the temporary location change due to the refurbishments

👉 Carhampton Youth Club has had a time change - like the rest of our Youth Clubs, it's now 6pm-8pm

👉 You only need to book online for Minehead Youth Club - the rest you can just turn up on the evening
