MV Agusta T18 1958 - Gear selecting issue now resolved, took Mavis out for a few spins yesterday very happy with the build now, even pulls well up hill at speeds approaching 40mph ha ha (down hill), not bad for a nearly 70 years old bike. Unfortunately Mavis has to go to new home I need the garage space for next wee project the Billy Bantam race bike.

MV Agusta 1958 T8 150cc stoker update - started on this wee project last year, paused it when racing / sprinting season started, last issue was jumping out of gear, managed to split wee engine the other day n found gear lever return spring fitted wrong !!!!!! And stop plate for the locking movement gears in wrong way round !!!!!! Was told re-built by specialist I don’t think so, going into first ok now n feels positive, will give her (Mavis) a test run soon, when it stops raining. When I’m happy with her she has to go I’m afraid make room for next project, quoted as having 6HP a proper beast ha ha

That’s the full service n adjustments made, smoke level good now following the issues at Leighton hall, reduced main jets to 180s now n lowered jet needle one notch, when at 3 sisters @ full throttle was losing power, when backed off she run better so too rich, got an ACU test day coming up ill give her some stick she how she does.

It’s that time of year again nearly end of racing season BOOO, service Ont old DS7 plus a few jobs, when on start line Captain said his leg caught the peg and it flipped up !!!!!! , I did the same on T20, so made em all fixed pegs now, re-sealed exhausts as blowing a tad, used exhaust assembly paste with strands of rope seal from the wood burner, about 10 years ago I purchased the ABBA vertical bike stand, one of the best investments I’ve made, never on my knees again, if your thinking of getting a bike stand I highly recommend one, also get the ABBA bike adapter set, cheaper in the long run.
