Our first crew out for the 5 Miles From Home Challenge this week, "Skiffy McSkifface" logged an impressive time, while enjoying themselves!

The first couple of Kms were into a strong headwind which eased as they got into the shelter of the Old Bar lagoon. After the halfway turn the tailwind eased and they were a bit early for the ebb tide. A great row enjoyed by all 😊

Well done team πŸ‘πŸΌ

‼️Sadly, due to adverse weather forecasts, we have decided to cancel tomorrow's regatta.‼️

This is a decision we have not taken lightly.

Safety first.

Dulsie had an adventure yesterday, rowing in on the sheltered side of the old bar and crossing to row back on the seaward side πŸ’ͺπŸ»πŸš£πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

A great day on the water today in Costa del Nairn

Last weekend saw us participate at Golspie Rowing Club regatta - huge thanks as always for their organisation of a great regatta, particularly in the changing conditions!

The first race was quite the challenge with gusting winds and as Avoch described it, the crew were looking/feeling like they'd been in a washing machine by the end! The race was abandoned half way through and the rest of the races were shortened to 1km. The wind eased over the day so the rest of our crews managed to stay drier!

Huge shout out to our Novice crew for winning Gold πŸ₯‡! They only joined the club in the last year, and for most it was their first or second regatta! We are super chuffed for them! Novices no more! πŸ‘πŸΌ (Also thanks to Amy from Golspie for supporting the crew)

Medal wise, we also managed 2 silvers in 240+ Women πŸ₯ˆ& 50+ Women πŸ₯ˆ and a bronze in the 280+ mixed πŸ₯‰
Our other results were respectably mid table, finishing the day joint 4th overall!

Thanks again to Golspie for a great day, and to our club members for towing, organising and rowing their hearts out πŸŽ‰

If you're interested in being our next lot of novices, (racing or not) please don't hesitate to get in touch 😊

We're looking forward to a great day of racing at our Regatta in Golspie on Saturday, when we welcome 8 clubs from around Scotland.

Hoping for great water and good weather, with plenty of hot food, refreshments and cakes available throughout the day. Don't miss our great raffle either...

We're delighted to have our sponsors from The Trawler Fish & Chips joining us and presenting the prizes. (Excellent refuelling food after a day on the water!)

We're also very grateful to NESS Marine Boat Builders for their help with the course and on the day.

Visitors, spectators and supporters all very welcome.

First race is at 09.30.

See you there.
