It’s a big day for HomeRewire as we make our most senior hire yet…
Welcome to the team, Craig Taylor 🤝
Craig joins us after a VERY thorough recruitment process and brings over 15 years of experience in rewiring, including contracts management roles with some of Glasgow’s biggest firms.
But there’s a bit more to this appointment than that.
Many of our followers have watched the HomeRewire story from the early days and, as it turns out, Craig has too.
Craig and I worked together years ago, back when I was still employed and rewiring houses every day.
During the interview process, he reminded me of something I’d completely forgotten.
Around 10 years ago, he caught me sitting in a van sketching out the very first logo for a business I was planning to start.
He asked what I was doing, and I told him I was going to start my own company.
That company became HomeRewire.
So there’s something pretty special about Craig joining us all these years later, in the most senior appointment we’ve made to date.
As a tradesman at heart, building a team of brilliant electricians has always come naturally to me. I’m incredibly proud of the workforce we have today.
But as HomeRewire has grown, so has my role.
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned in business is knowing when you need to stop trying to be involved in everything and bring in people who can take ownership of key parts of the company.
For HomeRewire to make the next jump, it’s time for me to step back from the day to day running and focus my energy on the areas where I can have the biggest impact on the business.
That’s where Craig comes in.
Craig will be hands on across the entire rewire journey ensuring every project is surveyed with detail, sold with confidence and delivered with excellence.
It feels like a significant step for HomeRewire.
From sketching a logo in the van all those years ago to welcoming Craig in today to help lead the next stage of the company.
Funny how things come full circle.
