🩵 OUR FUNKEY VALUES 🩵

As Funkey grows, we’ve taken a moment to reflect on what makes us, us.

Our new logo and “Fun is Key” message are bringing our brand identity together, but behind the fresh look are the same values that have guided Funkey since day one.

They shape every class, every session, every interaction with the children we work with. That’s what Funkey has always been about.

We’re proud of how far we’ve come, and even more excited for what’s next ✨

✨🏑 FUNKEY HOCKEY: The programme that started it all 🏑✨

What began as a pilot with around 12 children in a sports hall at Jordanstown has grown into a Saturday morning hockey programme with well over 100 children every weekend!

For ages 4-11, everyone’s welcome, from complete beginners to children already playing for local junior clubs.

Our Saturdays are all about participation, recreational play and FUN, while developing skills, growing confidence and building a love of the game.

With a brilliant coaching team, a fantastic venue and a whole lot of happy faces, here’s a little glimpse of our first session back for Term 1 at Jordanstown Sports Village on Saturday 19th September 💙

Sessions are currently full, but join our waiting list for updates on Term 2: https://funkey.classforkids.io/info/131

👍🏼 THUMBS UP WHO’S READY FOR HOCKEY TOMORROW 👍🏼

ONE SLEEP TO GO! Our whole team is SO excited to see you all on the pitch tomorrow 🏑

A wee reminder to bring:
🧥 A coat
💧 A drink
🥅 Shin guards/Mouth guard (recommended, especially for our older groups)
🏑 Your own stick; don’t worry if you need to borrow one, we have plenty!

When you arrive, we’ll greet you at the gate and point your child towards their group, where their coaches will get them signed in and organised from the moment they arrive.

A gentle reminder for parents to stay behind the fence during the session, unless your child is feeling a little nervous. If so, you’re very welcome to walk them over, help them settle, and then pop back behind the fence.

Please also make sure all gates remain closed during the session.

We are absolutely buzzing to see everyone and kick off what is going to be an incredible term of hockey!

See you tomorrow,

Lois & The Funkey Team 🩵

😆 THE FACE YOU MAKE WHEN YOU REALISE SATURDAY MORNING HOCKEY IS BACK IN ACTION THIS WEEK 😆

We’re so excited to welcome everyone back to Saturday Morning Hockey this Saturday, 19th September at Jordanstown Sports Village!

A key information email has been sent to all parents/guardians ahead of the new term, so please have a read before Saturday. If you can’t see it in your inbox, please check your junk/spam folder!

A little reminder for Saturday morning:

Coaches will be ready to welcome players from 8:55am at the gate of the outdoor blue hockey pitch.

Each group has its own coloured zone on the pitch, making it nice and easy for children to find where they need to go:
🟡 Nursery & P1 – Yellow
🟠 P2 – Orange
🩷 P3 – Pink
🔵 P4 – Blue
⚪ P5 – White
💚 P6 & P7 – Fluorescent Yellow/Green

Our coaches will be at the gate to welcome everyone, help children find their group, get settled and get their equipment sorted.

No need to worry if it’s your child’s first morning, we’ll be there to help 💙

Our classes are currently full, but we do have a waitlist in place. If you’d like to add your child to the waitlist, you can do so through the registration link.

We can’t wait to see everyone back on the pitch! Let the Saturday morning hockey chaos commence 🏑

🏑 THE COUNTDOWN IS ON 🏑

Yesterday officially marked the ONE-WEEK COUNTDOWN until Saturday Morning Hockey returns to Jordanstown Sports Village! And honestly… we are completely blown away 💙

We have officially reached MAXIMUM CAPACITY for Term 1 Saturday Morning Hockey, which is absolutely incredible. The influx in numbers has been mind-blowing, and we genuinely cannot thank you all enough for the support, enthusiasm and excitement around getting back on the pitch.

With capacity now reached, we have a WAITLIST in place.

If you’d like to add your child to the waitlist, you simply register in exactly the same way, using the usual registration link. If spaces become available, we’ll work through the waitlist from there 🔗 https://funkey.classforkids.io/info/131

We are SO excited to get started and are looking at how we can continue to extend our reach across different age groups, grow what we offer, and hopefully, create more space to accommodate even more children in the future.

LET’S GO,

Lois & The Funkey Team 🏑🔥

Three weeks today and we’ll be back in action on the hockey pitch!

We’ve already surpassed our Term 3 numbers, and we honestly couldn’t be more excited to get back underway. We have lots of familiar faces returning, alongside lots of new players who we are so excited to meet!

With numbers growing so quickly, we’ll be capping our places very soon, as pitch space is going to be our biggest limitation. There are now only a very limited number of spaces remaining, so if you’ve been thinking about joining us, now is the time!

We cannot wait to see everyone back out there and in action again very soon!

💙 WHAT A SUMMER! TO OUR WONDERFUL FUNKEY FAMILIES… THANK YOU 💙

As summer begins to draw to a close and lots of boys and girls get ready to head back to school, we just wanted to take a moment to say a huge thank you to all of our wonderful parents and guardians who chose to send your children along to Funkey this summer!

From our home base at Jordanstown Sports Village to our camps in different locations, we have had an absolutely incredible summer; with multi-sport, football and hockey camps, fully booked weeks and record-breaking numbers along the way.

And while those numbers are fantastic, what means the most to us is the joy we’ve had welcoming so many children through our doors. As coaches, we genuinely love what we do, and our biggest hope is that every child who comes to Funkey feels included, cared for, safe and, most importantly, happy. Of course, fun is at the heart of everything we do, after all ‘FUN-IS-KEY’ 😉 but creating an environment where children feel comfortable, valued and able to be themselves is just as important to us.

A massive thank you to our amazing team of staff too. They have worked incredibly hard throughout the summer and continually gone above and beyond to make sure every child has had the best possible experience, while providing the care, encouragement and positivity that makes our camps what they are.

To every child who joined us, whether you were with us for a day, a week, several weeks, or popped up throughout the summer, thank you for making our summer so special. We have loved having you with us and hope you’ve made some brilliant memories along the way.

As we head into a new school year, we wish all of our campers the very best, whether you’re starting P1, moving up through primary school, or making that big transition from P7 into Year 8. We hope it’s a fantastic year ahead for each and every one of you, and we really hope to see you back at Funkey again soon!

And finally… keep your eyes peeled for our Halloween Camp, coming very soon 🎃👻

With HUGE thanks,
Lois & the Funkey Team 🥰
