🇨🇦 Commonwealth Powerlifting Championships 2026 - that’s a wrap! 🇨🇦
What a competition. What a team. What an incredible group of athletes. 💚
To every athlete who stepped onto the platform in Winnipeg - thank you. The medals and results only tell a small part of the story. Behind every lift was months of training, sacrifice, setbacks, early mornings, hard sessions and the determination to keep going when it would have been easier not to. To represent Northern Ireland on the Commonwealth stage is an achievement in itself, and we hope you’re proud of what you’ve accomplished.
A huge thank you also goes to our coaches, whose support, knowledge and encouragement helped our athletes get onto that platform and perform at their best. And to our sponsors, thank you for supporting our athletes and helping make this experience possible. Your contribution to the team is hugely appreciated. 💚
And of course, a very special thank you to Lisa, our Operations Director. So much of what happens behind the scenes simply wouldn’t happen without you. From organising, coordinating and solving the countless little (and not-so-little!) things along the way, you made this whole experience possible. Even from afar, you somehow managed to make your presence felt — and, as always, your calm and reassuring nature kept us going when things got stressful. We genuinely couldn’t have done it without you. 💚
And finally… we have to mention the supporters. 😂
Northern Ireland: 1. Scotland: 0. 📣
Sorry Scotland, but we’re pretty sure the NI support could be heard from back home!
From the platform to the cheering in the crowd, this has been one to remember.
See you in 2028… Edinburgh, Scotland. 💚
We’ll bring the athletes. You bring the platform. And we’ll see if Scotland can bring the noise. 😉
