Longthorne, a name synonymous with excellence representing the very best in English craftsmanship, whether you’re a keen shooter looking for a tool for the job or merely looking for a heirloom of discerning style and traditional quality. Our guns are made entirely in our Northampton factory, England, from the smallest screw to our unique and patented barrels, the woodwork and intricate engravings. We source only the best ‘ingredients’, hand picked walnut for our stocks from Turkey and high specification superior steels, our belief is that you can’t make a quality product with inferior materials. We nurture the traditional and modern skills needed to transform the materials into our heritage products and combine experience and training to ensure the continuity of perfectly proportioned reliable shotguns, whether it be a shotgun from our standard range or completely bespoke. Our patented barrel technology and low profile action ensures strength, lightness, and low felt recoil, contributing towards an ultimate shooting experience.

Selecting the stock blank is one of the most special parts of the build, choosing the piece of timber that will eventually give your Longthorne its own individual character.

We carefully select our walnut for both beauty and strength, looking for striking figure and colour while making sure the grain structure is suitable for the demands of a working gun.

No two blanks are ever quite the same, and once shaped, fitted and finished, the character hidden within the wood comes alive.

It’s one of those moments where a collection of components starts to feel like your gun.
