Last week, we spent a very productive evening working through a flow drill that encompassed all of the previous weeks study, moving between guards and strikes with gradually increasing speed, adding correct footwork, leading to a seamless and graceful drill. Playing catch up with our posts - apologies! Last week, we melted our way through the final techniques from Lichtenauer's meisterhau, keeping it slow and steady in light of the conditions. Revisiting the basics is always useful, as perceptions as to how we use them change over time and with experience. Well done to all who made it through.

Hi folks - it's due to get pretty hot over the next few days but not quite as intense as a few weeks back. Therefore, the plan is to train as usual this week, so remember to bring water/sports drinks and cooler clothing (if you wear your club t-shirt, you already look cool đŸ˜‰). See you there!

We were fewer in number last night but this allowed us a nice relaxed look at the "squinting strike", against both shortened and extended positions. Some of the group then put the techniques discussed into practice, with a bit more intent, whilst others explored the strike in a little more depth.

Well done to everyone who attended training last night - it was a scorcher! Deciding there really wasn't any need to "warm up", we began with refreshing ideas from the last couple of weeks before moving on to the Zwerchau, keeping things nice and slow. Luckily, we had some space outdoors to finish with a bit of sparring. Cooler weather for next week though, please!
