WVFC'S SUPER SATURDAY!!

A quintuple header with FIVE football matches taking place at the Sports Field this Saturday (1st February). Welford Victoria Football Club will be selling refreshments as usual (bacon/sausage rolls were mentioned), and all teams would love your support.

Sports Field Association AGM

A reminder of our AGM which takes place at 7:30pm on Wednesday 19th February at the Sports Field, and a shout out for help if you'd like to join our merry band of Sports Field Folk. The full committee meets just four times a year, so the commitment is not large on that front, but what we really need as well is...

Fundraisers: people who can come up with, and help execute, creative ideas to raise money for the upkeep of this important village facility. Can include people who could open up the bar every now and then for an evening.

Maintenance support: Anyone who can spare a few hours once every four or five weeks to help us mow the lawn. (Perfect for those who want to put their headphones in and escape the world for a little bit)

FUNDRAISING QUIZ NIGHT

And although this is still two months away, we've already 'sold' about 40% of our capacity. Each quiz sold out last year (and I possibly rather oversold the summer one at The Wharf - it was rather cosy) which is great for our fundraising, but means "book early to avoid disappointment" is very much the order of the day.

We are extremely pleased to announce that we have been awarded a grant by Gigaclear Rural Sports Fund which has enabled us to purchase a well-needed drag mat for the Sports Field.

The drag mat will really help with the maintenance of our field which will, in turn, benefit all our sporting user groups - Welford Cricket Club, Welford Rounders (Pam's People) and Welford Victoria Football Club. Thank you Gigaclear!

Come and enter our Euro 2024 sweepstake! We'll be opening the bar at 19:00 to register participants, draw teams and then show the Germany v Scotland opening match on our big screen.
The sweepstake is £5 to enter, and places are limited to either 24 or 48 (1x or 2x the number of competing nations), depending upon demand.
Half of the prize money raised will be to support Sports Field fundraising. The other half goes into prizes
