May Bank Holiday Closes

Blimey 2 extra long weekends in 1 month what a great excuse for a long bike ride!

We'll be closed both bank holiday Mondays this month.
Monday the 5th and Monday the 25th of May.

We'll be open the rest of the month as normal,
Mon - Tue - Wed - Thur - Fri
8:30am to 4:30pm
Closed for lunch between 12:30-1pm
Closed for repairs on the first Wednesday of the Month (8th of May)

So if you are planning a long ride on a bank holiday pop the bicycle in for a check over so you can ride stress free.

Wednesday 29th of April from 10am until 3pm we will be running a variety of events through out the day.

⚙ 2pm Brake Maintenance Session

⚙ 3pm Gear Adjustment Session

If you are wanting to attend any off the sessions bring along a Valid UEA Campus Card and your bicycle.

There are also countless other events happening around the UEA over this week to help spread the message of sustainability, so even if this isn't for you something else might be.

*Labour Charge Increase from April 13th**

Due to the increase in the national minimum wage, our costs are going to go up next month which means sadly we will have to charge more for our labour.

When we first set up we aimed to pay our employees the Real Living Wage that is suggested by the Living Wage Foundation. Unfortunately over time this became unrealistic for us to be able to offer our employees.
Since 2020 we haven't been able to pay our employees this amount, so we collectively decided to leave our wages as they were and ignore the suggested increases until we eventually hit national minimum wages. This was the only way for the business to keep going at some points.

We love the work that we do and the services that we offer, but often feel like our skills and knowledge are underappreciated. There is a common misconception that because we are busy everyday we must be earning a lot, however we are only a team of 3, 2 mechanics and 1 admin. To be able to earn enough each day to cover wages and other outgoing costs our mechanics have to work incredibly hard each day.

Considering we only pay ourselves minimum wages, we really understand the issues a lot of people face with the constant increase of the cost of living.

We aim for our service to be as affordable as possible for everyone that uses it.
