Tomorrow Beverley RUFC will field 35 female players on the same day for the first time and it’s going to be one to remember!

For the girls, this is their last run out before the Yorkshire plate final next weekend and it will be essential game time and experience and even better that it’s on home soil.

We did try for an earlier start for the women… but lambing season said otherwise 🐑 Can’t argue with that — priorities are priorities 🤝 With a couple of farmers in their ranks, we thought it was only right to lean into it… so here’s our very own flock ready for selection 😂

Jokes aside, this one means a lot as it is our final game of the season and it’s been a long one — full of graft, growth, tough losses, big wins, and everything in between. This group has shown up week in, week out, and we couldn’t be prouder of what’s been built along the way, and we’d also like to take the opportunity to thank our players for putting their bodies on the line. Season 25/26 the year we picked up too many injuries, and we wish all those recovering the best and we can’t wait to see all those players hopefully make their return next season and we are proud that despite that we are fielding a team of 20 for the final game.

🚨Match Report - Beverley Women’s vs Scarborough Valkyries🚨

Tough battle on home soil for Beverley Ladies as we faced in challenging conditions.

Despite torrential rain and hail in the first half, both sides showed real intent with ball in hand. Scarborough struck early with two tries, putting us under pressure from the outset.

The second half saw a strong response from Beverley, with our pace out wide causing problems and helping us claw our way back into the game. We built momentum and looked dangerous, pushing hard to close the gap during a sustained attacking period.

However, a key turnover from Scarborough halted our progress at a crucial moment. While we continued to fight and showed great resilience, a few late tries from the visitors ultimately sealed the result.

There were plenty of positives to take, with a determined team performance and some excellent attacking rugby on display. Credit to Scarborough for a competitive and well-contested game. It’s always a pleasure, you really are our rugby besties.

A panda, a kangaroo, a frog and a crocodile walk into Beaver Park… and somehow that still wasn’t the strangest part of the game.

We now look ahead to our next fixture this Sunday at home against , focused on building on this performance and finishing the season strongly.
