And with that, our final (very hot!) week of HAF is finished. We had a great time handing out medals to the kids today. See you all next year! As always, our young people had the opportunity to engage in a plethora of activities alongside boxing which included drama ,art to name two. All this whilst watching Team England bring home Gold Medals in the Commonwealth Games!

Two years ago today, two of our young prospects made the trip to spar the formidable future superstar of boxing, Ben Whittaker.
Those rounds were more than just sparring they were an opportunity to test themselves against one of the very best and, importantly, to learn.
Fast forward two years and both lads have gone on to win National titles, international gold medals and earn places on Team GB!
That’s the power of aspiration, opportunity and believing in the journey. You never know where one round, one session or one opportunity might take you

As always we utilise our centre for the whole of Greater Manchester and Oldham and last Saturday it was an absolute thrill to have Dare To Know’s TV & Film talks at our gym. Who presented a full day of talks from industry experts in TV & Film. The event went amazingly, (thanks to Fox & Pine for the drinks) and it’s a testament on how diverse the talent is in Oldham, whether in the ring or on on the silver screen!

Mentoring isn’t something we simply talk about at Oldham Boxing & Personal Development Centre it’s embedded in our DNA.
It was a particularly proud moment to see Will Cawley, our first National Senior GB Champion, passing on his knowledge and experience to Kyle Shaw Tullin, our latest Senior Champion and GB representative.
Almost ten years separate their achievements, but boxing has brought them together in a way that goes far beyond the ring.
Will has travelled the road that Kyle is now travelling the highs, the challenges, the sacrifices and the expectations that come with representing your country.
Now, that experience is being passed down.
From one champion to another. From one generation to the next. This is what our mentoring philosophy is all about: ensuring that the lessons learned along the journey don’t stop with the individual, but are shared to help others go further.
Today's champion can become tomorrow’s mentor.

Every day is a learning day!
During our HAF activity, we had the pleasure of welcoming Barclays Bank, who took the time to meet with our mentors and mentees and deliver an engaging introductory workshop on banking.
The session covered the basics of bank accounts, explained how interest works, and shared valuable advice on how to recognise and avoid scams. It was a fantastic opportunity to equip our young people with essential financial knowledge and life skills.
A big thank you to Barclays Bank for supporting our community and helping to inspire the next generation.

Well done to the England boxers who represented the country at the Commonwealth Games. An excellent medal count despite some questionable judging.

Last night was more than just a trip to a boxing show it was an investment in the future.
Our boxers had the privilege of attending the Maree Boxing event, headlined by our good friend and one of Britain’s brightest prospects, Harriss Akbar. Harriss put on a boxing masterclass, displaying outstanding skill, ring IQ, and composure to overcome a very tough opponent. Performances like that inspire the next generation.
The evening was a well deserved treat for our boxers, who also dedicate their time as mentors on our ,We Rise Project supporting younger people in our community. They witnessed first-hand the levels of professionalism, discipline, and commitment needed to succeed at the highest level.
Over the years, we’ve taken our athletes to countless boxing events from small hall shows to major arena nights not simply as spectators, but as students of the sport. Every event is part of their journey, helping them visualise what’s possible and preparing them for the day they step into those arenas themselves.
Dream it. Believe it. Work for it. One day, it will be their turn.
Thank you, Harriss, for continuing to inspire the next generation, and congratulations on another outstanding victory.
