🏉 SPURR’S BUTCHERS MAN OF THE MATCH! 🏆 from yesterdays pre season 35-42 loss v Leeds Corinthians RUFC

What a performance from Conor, who takes home the Spurr’s Butchers Man of the Match award after a faultless display! 🔥💪

Chosen by his fellow players, Conor was excellent throughout. Returning the ball brilliantly, tackling low and distributing the ball well from 15. 👏

A thoroughly deserved player-voted award and another reminder of what an excellent addition Conor has been to the club since joining us in pre-season! ⚫️🔴⚪️

🎁 Conor receives a £10 Spurr’s Butchers gift voucher — a well-earned reward for a top-class performance! 🥩💷

A special mention also goes to Danny Buckley (sponsored by the Ravenswharfe Hotel) who was chosen by the opposition as their Man of the Match from our team after an outstanding performance. 👏

Danny showed excellent leadership throughout, managed the game brilliantly and was deadly with the boot, with his goal kicking proving a key part of his performance. 🎯

A fantastic all-round display from Danny and thoroughly deserved recognition from the opposition! 💪

Back in May we lost a great friend and member of Ossett RUFC Pip Shaw

Anna, Pip Shaw’s daughter. Is doing some fundraising in memory of Pip for the care he and the family received when in hospital.

Pips son Jimmy, and 3 cousins are running the York marathon on the 18th October in support of Take Heart, they are a charity who look after the families of those who are being looked after for heart related illness.

Long before most of our current squads were even thought of, our Club President Peter Bradshaw was already making his mark in rugby — selected to represent a very strong Wakefield Metro District Team.

A great piece of history and a reminder of the rugby pedigree that runs through our club. 👏🏉

WORLD SU***DE PREVENTION DAY — 10 SEPTEMBER

Rugby is about more than what happens on the pitch.

We spend a lot of time talking about looking after our teammates, but sometimes the most important thing we can do is simply check in, have a chat and listen.

You never really know what someone might be carrying outside of rugby. A quick message, a quiet word after training or asking someone if they’re okay can make more difference than you realise.

At Ossett RUFC, we want to be a club where people feel supported, welcomed and able to talk — from our youngest players through to our seniors, coaches, volunteers and members.

Be a good teammate. Look after the person, not just the player.

If you’re struggling, reach out. Talk. Listen.

🏉 CHARLIE WALKER CUP + LIVE MUSIC AT OSSETT RUFC 🎶

It’s a big afternoon at the club this Saturday 12th September!

Before the music starts, Ossett RUFC take on Leeds Corinthians RUFC at 2:00pm, competing for the Charlie Walker Cup. Come down, get behind the lads and support the team as we continue our pre-season preparations.

Then from 4:30pm, it’s time for Public Liability to take over with live music! 🎸

There’s an extra special Ossett connection too — Public Liability features ex second team coach and first team player Rich Carr’s son, so come down, show your support and enjoy some great live music from one of our own! ⚫️🔴⚪️
