U10 & U11’s Open Day! 🏉

Training nights for the junior section 💚
• U10 & U11 boys and girls will train on Friday evenings
• U12 girls will train on Wednesday evenings (or whichever night suits best for the group)

After nearly a year of fundraising, planning, emails, phone calls, form filling, worrying, begging, borrowing (not quite stealing 😂) and a lot of determination… our new changing room block is finally in place and planning has passed!

To every single person who donated, sponsored us, shared a post, came to an event, gave up their time, offered advice, helped behind the scenes or simply told us to keep going, thank you. Every £5, every raffle ticket, every sponsorship and every bit of support genuinely helped get us here. You’re a very kind bunch.

A huge thank you to Geoff, who said “yes” to the idea in the first place and trusted us to run with it.

A big thank you to Waitings that helped us get it down the hill and in place in one piece from where it was delivered, some awesome machinery and team work there.

Have to give a mention to Cash for Kids Sports Challenge. You gave us the platform and the push to turn something we’d talked about for years into something we could actually make happen. We will be doing it again in October, but not quite on this level!

This was never just about putting another building at the club. It’s about making sure our teams have appropriate changing spaces. It’s about being able to welcome more teams and play more rugby.

Many of you will already know that, because many grounds across the country are hard and unsuitable for safe full contact activity, the Start of the Competitive Rugby Union Season has been delayed until the week commencing 21 September. Full details of the reasoning and consequences can be seen by visiting this link https://www.englandrugby.com/follow/news-and-media/statement-start-competitive-community-rugby-season

The delay relates across the board to both grass and artificial grass pitches. For Penrith RUFC this will mean that, until 21 September their will be no adult league matches. Under certain circumstances training and friendly matches can proceed. Additionally, County Cup matches can go ahead and please watch out for forthcoming updates on this competition
For Age Grade competitions, until further guidance is issued, no matches (either competitive or friendly) should take place. Training can continue in the meantime, subject to important pitch safety assessments prior to every session.
