If you’re coming up to join us for Scone Palace International Horse Trials, there is lots more besides to keep you busy during your stay here, so much so that you might even want to extend your trip.

Shortly before the horse trials, the Jacobite Festival - which takes place across multiple locations all over Scotland - runs from the 15th to the 23rd August, with a variety of engaging events to help us understand the Jacobite period of 1688 to 1746.

Running just after our event is Perthshire Eat Week (30th August to 8th September); the ultimate local food showcase, bringing you a range of excellent offers from as little as £5 to feast at top notch Perthshire venues.

Just half an hour from Scone Palace, the Pitlochry Festival Theatre hosts critically acclaimed plays all year round. Check out their website to see what’s showing over event week and beyond.

We’ve received great entries for our eventing classes at Scone Palace - thank you all for supporting us once again - but please note that this is your very last chance to enter as all entries for international and national grassroots classes will close completely at 12 noon on Tuesday, 11 August. No further entries will be accepted after that point.

Entries for all showing, showjumping, arena eventing, Pony Club Games and riding club classes will close at midnight on Monday, 10 August.

Good news! On Saturday, our most popular day of sporting action as horse and rider combinations take on the challenge of the international cross-country courses, we still have some spaces available for picnic parking.

Located in a prime course viewing spot, the picnic parking spaces afford you your own personal slice of Scone Palace, where you can set up table and chairs to enjoy your own picnic with family and friends.

Think the day is over as the last rider dismounts? Think again!

We keep you busy day and night at Scone Palace International Horse Trials, with evening entertainment held at Perth Racecourse’s ‘The Barn’ on Thursday, Friday and Saturday of event week.

With fully stocked bars and our famous Paddock & Chips, you can fuel up for dancing the night away to the sound of Carbon Copy on Thursday, the hottest event band on the circuit right now, the Ragin Ceilidh Band on Friday and their traditional ceilidh music (plus a few surprises!) and the Compact Disco Defender on Saturday, who always bring the energy!

All evening entertainment tickets must be purchased from the Information Tent on the main event site between 8am and 6pm.

There’s lots to keep youngsters entertained at Scone Palace International Horse Trials, but we’re particularly excited about the addition of the Horse Scotland Village, which is new for 2026.

The Horse Scotland Village provides fun and educational activities for children, helping them to understand the equine world and even have a go at riding a mechanical horse!

Whether they are curious about learning to ride, joining a branch of the Pony Club, cuddling one of our lovely therapy ponies or showing off their beloved dogs in our friendly dog show classes, children of any age and level of pony knowledge will come away having learnt something and maybe even a goal to work towards.
