Come to Scotland’s premier equestrian event, enjoy a day of shopping, sport and sipping champagne - and why not help celebrate the women who live and breathe the equestrian lifestyle by joining in our Best Dressed Lady competition?

Everyone at the horse trials has a chance to win as our eagle-eyed team will be scouting the crowds throughout the day to shortlist 10 standout looks for the final judging. Remember you’ll be walking around on the beautiful, grassy terrain between Scone Palace and the River Tay, so swap those raceday heels for something more practical…

Shortlisted finalists will be invited into the main arena for the final judging, where elegance and practicality are expected to score highly.

We may have just had a heatwave in the UK, but it’s safe to say that wasn’t always the case when the horse trials used to run in May!

In 1991, horses and riders braved very wet conditions at Scone Horse Trials, with Scottish competitors holding up well overall in the competition with several placings among them.

We hope that, come this year’s event in August, the weather is rather nicer than it has been described in this excerpt!

We are recruiting for our wonderful army of volunteers for the second edition of the Scone Palace International Horse Trials and we would love to hear from you.

We are on the lookout for volunteers to cover a wide range of roles and shifts from Wednesday 26th – Sunday 30th August 2026.

From fence judging to collecting-ring stewarding and everything in between, volunteering at Scone is something that can be done with your friends or family, right at the core of our sporting action.
