LADIES | Pre-Season #5

Our penultinate friendly ahead of the 26/27 season began with a minutes silence, following the passing of well-known, much loved Ash White.

The Blues started strongly taking the lead from a briliantly weighed ball from Trialist F, to Goucher breaking the line to finish low, in the opening minutes. Following plenty of changes in one go from the blues, the balance became unsettled, leading to trailing at halftime 3-1.

The blues started the second half in strongly, before Ottery gaining a 4th on the counter. The final 20 minutes saw True Blues regain control over the game as a corner from Trialist E, taking a bounce on the edge of the box for trialist G to half volley home, on the spin. With 7 minutes left on the clock another delivery this time from a set piece was cleared to Kelly who stuck on the half volley into the the roof of the net from 25 yards.

Throughout both halves, the blues created opportunities which were denied on occassions, similarly to Frickleton pulling off a few late reactional saves to keep Ottery out.

We thank Ottery for making the efforts to travel down at late notice and wishing them the best for the upcoming season!

Exciting news from the Plymouth True Blues FC as they announce the appointment to first team management of the vastly experienced Kev Boyd and Andy Tingley.

Kev and Andy will be welcoming new and current players to their first training session at Millbay on Wednesday at 7pm and all are welcome to come along if you fancy playing for a great club in the South Devon Premier League this season.

Welcoming them to the club, Chairman Mike Norris said “Kev and Andy bring years of experience and contacts at this, and higher levels and we can’t wait to get the season started with them at the helm”

*Club Update*

Plymouth True Blues FC can confirm that Alfie Fothergill and Mark Barrett stepped down from their First Team management roles on Wed after accepting an approach from Torpoint Athletic Reserves. We appreciate their efforts during their time with the club and wish them well moving forward.

With the season fast approaching, the committee has acted quickly and is interviewing two excellent managerial candidates tonight.

Our aim is to have a new First Team manager in place as soon as possible to ensure stability for the squad and the club.

Further updates will follow once the appointment process is complete.

It is with great sadness that everyone at Plymouth True Blues FC sends our deepest and most sincere condolences to the family and friends of former True Blues striker, Ashley White.

The news of Ash’s passing has shocked us all. He was a genuinely kind-hearted person who was highly respected and well liked by everyone who knew him, both on and off the football pitch.

Ash will always be remembered as a wonderful man and his presence within the local football community will be greatly missed.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Ash’s family, friends and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him at this incredibly difficult time.

LADIES |

A tough 4th game for the ladies where we faced an youthful, athletic, confident Buckland side.

A scrappy, well contested game in-all with both sides creating half chances, the deciding moments coming from a handball in the box and a challenge on a looseball, resulting in two converted penalties, either side of the keeper.

We wish Buckland the best of luck in their debute season back in the DWL, we look forward to the double header at the start of October!

Great to see a host of people from the match on the mic at karaoke after too!

We look forward to sharing our new signings over the coming weeks as we head closer to the season opener! 🖊
