PTBFC Result Reports
03-04 Oct 2026
Heading in the Wright direction! All three teams picked up points on the road for the second consecutive week.
đź—Ł 1sts | Newton Abbot 66 2-4 PTBFC
Starting on the back foot, Newton Abbott 66 had a goal ruled out for offside early on. As the game progressed, both sides largely cancelled each other out. Around the 20-minute mark, Wright broke through following a positive passage of play and found the net, only to see his effort ruled out for offside.
The deadlock was eventually broken when Wright played Tyson through on goal, rounding the keeper and placing the ball into an empty net. 66 had opportunities to level the score before the break, striking the post and being denied by some resolute defending from the Blues.
True Blues started the second half in fine fashion, doubling their lead. A deep corner was met by Waterschoot, who headed the ball back across goal for Wright to turn home.
In quick succession, 66 pulled a goal back with a toe-poked finish. The Blues responded immediately when Talliss picked the ball up deep inside his own half and played it into Wright, whose spectacular looping strike from 35 yards caught the keeper off his line to make it 3-1.
With 66 pushing for a second goal, an arguably harsh handball decision resulted in a penalty, which was calmly converted to reduce the deficit to 3-2. The final goal arrived as Talliss regained possession before creatively lobbing the keeper yet again off his line from 35 yards.
We'd like to thank Newton Abbott 66 for their hospitality both at the ground and in the facilities afterwards.
đź—Ł 2nds | Liverton 1-1 PTBFC 2nds
Another game on their travels for the Seconds, who earned another valuable point on the road.
Next week will see County Cup action with a trip to North Devon.
đź—Ł Ladies | Buckland 0-1 PTBFC
The Blues started positively, winning a corner straight from kick-off. Buckland created a couple of chances but failed to trouble the goalkeeper, while Goucher saw a shot scuffed wide.
On 22 minutes, Buckland were awarded a penalty after a mistimed challenge from Johnson just inside the box. Frickleton came to the rescue with a superb low diving save to deny the hosts.
Moments later, at the other end, Goucher came close but saw her effort narrowly drift past the post.
After regrouping at the interval, True Blues found the breakthrough in the 52nd minute. Tingley received the ball deep, remained calm and composed under pressure, and beat the recovering defender before playing Goucher through on goal. Goucher outran her marker and slotted the ball neatly into the corner of the net.
The youthful hosts continued to ask questions of the resilient Blues backline, but the visitors stood firm to protect their lead.
In the dying moments, Buckland won a corner which caused chaos in the penalty area. The initial shot was saved, the follow-up was brilliantly cleared off the line by Johnson, and Frickleton then produced an outstanding fingertip save to push the ball onto the crossbar.
The resulting corner was cleared, and the final whistle followed shortly after.
A hard-earned victory and clean sheet for the Ladies.
We'd like to thank Buckland for their hospitality both at the ground and in the facilities afterwards.
