A poor showing from the MG lads today. The first half was very poor. Couldn't get ahold of the game, forcing balls forward and rushing things in the final 3rd.

Some stern words at half-time woke us up, but it was Beesands who took the lead. With 15 minutes to go, it was Josh Mutton who forced home an equaliser to send the game to penalties.

Jenson managed to save a penalty, but two missed pens right at the end gave the game to Beesands, who looked much better this time around.

Some seriously shocking decisions from the man in the middle today but less said the better.

Poor showing, but pick our heads up and go again for a massive league match next week vs Paignton Villa.

Man of the match - Connor Warren for a brilliant shift out of position at Left Back. Didn't put a foot wrong 🔵⚪️

Next up..

An away fixture in the Devon Senior Cup vs Beesands Rovers F.C

After a superb start from the lads winning every game, we know we have to be at our best to keep the run going. That starts with a tough away fixture to Beesands.

A couple of debuts for Jenson Manning who returns from injury in goal. New signing Kieran Roberts joins from Stoke Gabriel. Gary Heasman returns from injury and Mo Kherras is available and ready to put in a performance 🔥

Bentley Alcantara takes the armband 🤝

A fixture the lads are looking forward too after a week off.

All support, as always, is massively appreciated.

Big thank you to our sponsors as always -

Scratch card to raise money for a young girl and her family‼️

As a club, we were asked to help raise money for young Ruby and her family by a close supporter of ours.

Ruby is just 17 years old and has been diagnosed with Ewings Sarcoma, which is a rare form of cancer in her knee. Ruby is a keen footballer, and we'd like to do anything we can to help raise money for her and her family during the tough times as she's currently starting 6 months of treatment.

We're asking for £5 a square but if you can donate any more again, it would be massively appreciated. Please comment with what square you'd like to take and how much you can donate and we'll put you down.

We've said the winner will receive their donated money back. However, as a club, we will be donating that money straight back if we were to win.

Please message privately for account details to pay into.

Thank you very much everyone❤️🔵⚪️

Septembers player of the month goes to - Sol Sinclair🤝

Instrumental in us playing 4 and winning 4. Sets the tempo from the first whistle, leader mentality and some massive performances at the back have earned him this award for September. Loved by his team mates who all agree on this decision too👏

4 games -
2 man of the matches -
1 goal
1 assist
1 clean sheet.

Keep it going Sol 🔵⚪️

Big 3 points to keep our perfect record intact. A dominant first half saw us go into the break 5-1 up. Kieran Morris opened the scoring with a perfectly weighted 30-yard switch of play from Harley Mitchell, to Kieran who dinked the keeper to give us the lead.

Harley then found himself out wide and with a cross come shot which crept in over the keeper. 2-0

Bentley ran in behind the back line and a foul straight into the back of him to earn us a penalty which Ray cooly dispatched, taking his tally to 4 this season. 3-0

Bentley then found himself beating the offside trap and wrapping a lovely ball across the box whose last touch came off a Beesands defender. 4-0

A disappointing goal to concede from a set piece and a free header made the score 4-1 Mount Gould.

Bents then wrapped up a dominant first half performance with a superb finish out wide, wrapping the ball past the keeper to make it 5-1.

Second half -

A poor second half, from all accounts, we didn't look threatened much, but the poor work rate and couldn't make the ball stick let Beesands have some hope and they looked brighter in this half.

A goal from each side and a second for Kieran Morris to kill the game off at 6-2 after a poor mistake from the keeper.

Man of the match - No doubts this week, Harley Mitchell. Involved in everything first half and controlled the centre of the park. Even when we was poor second half, his energy levels and calmness were superb and a good showing from him to win it this week🔵⚪️

Phew.. 😮‍💨 Mount Gould 3 - 2 Brixham Town 1sts

1-0 up after dominating the early exchanges. Harley Mitchell sprayed the ball to Kieran Morris out wide, cut inside and finished smartly at the near post, catching the keeper off guard.

1-0 Half time. A slow start from our lads saw us give away two quick-fire goals from Brixham, who may have considered themselves slightly lucky, but credit to them for burying their chances.

In the 70th minute, a smart ball in behind the defence left a 50/50 between Muttsy and the keeper and the ball fell into the path of Ray Spear who finished and deservedly got us back level, 2-2.

With 15 seconds left on the clock, a deflected shot on the edge of the box missed out the defence and fell into the path of Muttsy who finished smartly on the left foot to bring the comeback complete and some scenes at Tothill.

Credit to Brixham for not shutting off and getting back into the game. No excuses from us, poor showing for spells but deserved winners.

Man of the match as voted by team-mates – Sol Sinclair. Two weeks on the bounce for Sincs, absolutely huge for our squad and deserved again. Big mention to Dan O'Brien on his first game back, was absolutely immense too.

3 wins from 3, looking to continue our brilliant start next week vs Beesands.
