🏓 Fantastic start to the Junior Training Series in the South West!

Joola Plymouth hosted the first of 8 regional training days for juniors across Cornwall and Devon, led by Paul Whiting and the coaching lineup featured Olly Cornish, Henry Tam, and Martin Hynes, supported by sparring partners Jane Hatton and Mitch Bellham, ensuring a high coach-to-player ratio and personalized guidance.

🔥 19 players brought fantastic energy through a 5-hour session (12:00 pm – 5:00 pm) featuring speed, agility, and intensive table drills to kick off the series in style!

Origin8 South West 4-Player Team Event

Joola Plymouth are running a 4-player team event for 8 teams from the Southwest for a second year running.
Due to the lack of senior Club team competitions in the Southwest of England, Paul Whiting and the competition team at Joola Plymouth decided to run a team event giving senior players in the Southwest the chance to experience team competition in their area and to inspire them to progress into SBCL.
After the success of the first season, several of the players that competed last season have now joined SBCL demonstrating that a feeder division before the commitment to SBCL is a great addition to the area.
This season the event is being run as a 1-Star team event and the competition will run on 3 Sundays throughout the year.
Joola Plymouth TTC has also obtained sponsorship from Origin8 South West Ltd and we would like to extend our thanks for their support.
The format is 4 players v 4 players where each player plays 3 singles and 1 doubles in each match over 2 tables, and each team play 2 team matches on the day giving all players 6 singles matches and 2 doubles matches on each Sunday of the event.
The first Sunday was held on 20th of September and organised and run by Jason Cornish and Paul Whiting. Teams from Cornwall, Devon and Avon are participating this season.

Looking forward to the first round of the Origin 8 4-player team event hosted by Joola Plymouth TTC tomorrow. 8 teams will battle it out over 3 Sundays throughout the season and you can watch it live-streamed on Joola Plymouth’s YouTube channel at 10am.
