The handicap format helps level the playing field, so players of all standards are encouraged to get involved – whether you're one of the club's regular competitors or simply fancy putting your squash to the test!
It’s a fun club tournament, a great excuse to get on court and, most importantly, there are bragging rights at stake. 👀🏆

The first Friday of the month means it's time for another fantastic Club Night at Pontefract Squash & Leisure Club!
Whether you're a regular, returning to the game, or looking to meet new playing partners, Club Night is the perfect opportunity to get on court, enjoy some friendly matches and be part of our brilliant squash community.

🎾 NEW MINI LEAGUE – ABOVE OR DEEPER!
Fancy trying something a little different?
We're launching an Above or Deeper Mini League at Pontefract Squash & Leisure Club, with play beginning 1st August.
Whether you're an experienced player, just getting back into squash after a break, or simply looking to improve your game, all skill levels are welcome.
Why give it a go?
✅ A brilliant way to ease yourself back into squash.
✅ Improve your fitness without feeling like you're sprinting every rally.
✅ Develop better length, control and shot selection through longer, more tactical rallies.
✅ Great for building the core skills that make you a stronger squash player.
✅ Friendly, social and open to everyone.
Unlike traditional squash where rallies can often end after just a couple of shots, Above or Deeper encourages longer exchanges, giving you more time on the ball, more opportunity to construct points, and a fantastic workout along the way.
We're aiming to get at least 15 players signed up to launch with a minimum of 3 boxes, then we'll simply add more boxes as numbers grow.
The league will be organised and run by Phil Wakefield, so if you'd like to take part, register your interest at Reception or drop Phil a message on 07906 646572.
Come and give it a try - you might just discover your new favourite way to play squash!

🎉 Celebrating 10 Years! 🎉
On 16th July we are proud to celebrate a full decade of our badminton centre. What started from absolutely nothing has grown into a thriving, welcoming community of beginner, intermediate, and advanced players. My own background in squash and badminton has helped shape the journey, but it’s the passion, commitment, and friendship of everyone who walks through our doors that makes this place so special. Here’s to many more years together.

🏆 Summer League Champions! 🏆
Congratulations to our 2026 Summer League winners – Matt, Lauren, Joe, Jorge and Craig! 👏
A fantastic effort from all, and Matt who completed an unbeaten campaign to finish the season as a well-deserved champion. 💪
A huge thank you to everyone who took part over the past few weeks. It was great to see some competitive squash, plenty of close matches, and a brilliant atmosphere throughout the league.
