Sharing a very vulnerable moment ❤️‍🩹 As I recover from my ankle surgery, my upcoming endometriosis surgery has constantly been in the back of my mind.

For the last six weeks, I’ve had to use blood thinning injections whilst my leg is immobilised in a cast and every night I’ve looked at the bruises on my stomach, lI can’t help but think this is what my body feels like on the inside ALL THE TIME 💔

Endometriosis is such a cruel disease and it takes so much away from those of us who live with it. In the UK right now, it takes on average 9 years and 4 months to get a diagnosis which is insane 🤯 Let that sink in for a moment. And if you’re one of the estimated 190M people in the world, living with endometriosis right now, I am so sorry and I am sending the biggest hugs 💛

For years, I’ve had to fight and advocate for myself to finally get somewhere with my health issues and it’s finally all getting sorted out now but only because I have refused to never back down. It’s taken a hell of a lot of patience and perseverance. It’s very frustrating and it causes a lot of sadness and anger experiencing medical gaslighting and medical misogyny at what feels like every corner. We shouldn’t have to become experts in our own illnesses to be taken seriously!!

These bruises will eventually fade and I will move on with my ankle recovery, I still have my endo to contend with and then have to go through the whole surgery process again 🎗️

Never one to sugarcoat things and always an open book, this surgery and recovery has been so damn hard ❤️‍🩹

I have less than a week until my cast comes off and I cannot wait! I know I still have a very long stretch ahead but the initial recovery period is nearly over 🙏

I knew when I first hurt my ankle in November 24’, it was bad and still to this day, the driver of the car, who could have easily hit me with his car had I have not stopped myself with my foot, have no idea how much he had changed my life these last almost two years! BUT I am not a resentful person, I am grateful for all the lessons learnt during this period. It’s been painful to say the least but pain and struggle teaches us things we never thought would be possible!

I cannot wait to return to work and the gym as soon as I am able to. I’m still struggling but I’m doing a lot better than I was in the early days. I’m craving movement and being able to get out and about again!!!

To every single person who has helped and supported me through this period, thank you ❤️ I could not have done this without the help, love and support of my friends, my clients and my mum as I live on my own (with babygirl ofc) and run my own business. I’m hyper independent at the best of times but sometimes we have to have help as we are not able to do all the things, all the time.

It’s been a real grind hobbling around on one leg and managing as best I can these last five weeks.

It’s the final countdown now. I’m still unsure of the exact date when I will be able to return to Jetts Portsmouth again but I’m hoping it’ll be really soon 💪☘️

I’ll keep you all posted 💖

August is a gentle transition into the changing seasons. It’s an opportunity to pause, reflect, and check in with yourself before the pace of autumn begins.

One of my biggest lessons this summer has reinforced for me is this: our bodies and our nervous systems are always communicating with us. When we ignore the whispers and continue pushing through, they eventually find a way to make us listen.

So many of us have been conditioned to believe that slowing down means we’re falling behind. But the truth is, rest isn’t the opposite of progress—it’s part of it.

There is a real art to living a softer life. To creating rhythms instead of constantly chasing routines. To choosing recovery as intentionally as productivity. To understanding that sustainable health isn’t built by doing more—it’s built by knowing when to do less.

As we move into August, I want to encourage you to think about what your body needs, not just what your calendar demands.

What would change if this month you measured success not by how much you got done, but by how well you cared for yourself along the way?

Sometimes the most powerful thing you can do for your health is simply slow down. 🤍

This day 8 years ago, I had my very first day as a PT. Roll forward 8 years and I’m currently laying in bed recovering from my ankle surgery ❤️‍🩹

The last 13 years have been a WILD ride. I’ve lived many different seasons, and the upcoming season is the one I am excited for most!

I count my blessings every day to be in a position where I can help others do the same and change their lives too 🥰

This particular time of year is always a period of reflection for me, with my birthday just a few days away, I find myself reflecting on the years past.

Everything I do is from a place of love, care and understanding. I’ve become the person I always felt like I needed for myself, for others. I take every opportunity in life as an opportunity to learn, heal and grow 🌻

I start working from home late next week and I’m so excited to get back to a bit of normality. Every surgery I’ve had is a physical signifier for my healing journey. Every scar I have tells a story! Not all scars are visable but I will always shout loud and proud about my story and my experiences as they might just help someone else when they need it most 🤍

I’ve reached the halfway point post surgery for my ankle 🙏

This has been my physically the hardest thing I have ever had to do. Knowing that surgery was very likely early on after I first got my injury, I’ve been training for this recovery period for the last year and a half.

The whole medical and surgical team I’ve had at QA have been fantastic and I cannot fault them for a second.

Last week I found out two ligaments (ATFL and CFL) had completely snapped off the bone and to think I was still running and clocking up an average and in excess of 12-17K steps per day is mind blowing 🤯

I feel so justified in complaining about my ankle and poorly legs the way I was 😂

I’ve been told the surgery went well but it seems I’ve got some nerve damage which may or may not be permanent. I was told before I went in, it was one of the possible complications of having the surgery, so that’ll be something else to work on when I’m in physio and rehabbing my poorly legs and ankle. Nerve regrowth can be extremely slow but I’m determined to work as hard as I can for the best possible outcome and get back running again when I can! I’m still in a considerable amount of pain but I’m slowly coming over the hill 🐢

Getting around on one leg is so damn hard. I’ve done an untold amount of single leg squats and deadlifts over the last few weeks, the difference in my left and right legs when I’m out of my cast means I’m going to have to rehab the 💩 out of them.

I’ve had so much wonderful support and its been lovely to have so many people checking in and coming to see me at home ❤️

Next week is my birthday, my mum is coming for a few days which I always look forward to 🥰

I return to working from home the week after next and I can’t wait to get back to it! I’ll have to be more independent on my feet again before I’m able to return to the gym so my main focus now is rest, relaxation and staying in zen mode ✌️

These past few weeks have been absolutely mental and even more so this last week 😮‍💨

You won’t see me for a little while as I’m having surgery on Tuesday for my ankle and I’ll be in a cast for six weeks. My last two days will be tomorrow and Saturday so please come and say hey if you’re around 🩷

I’ll be back sometime between mid - end August and my classes will resume as soon as I’m able to and strong enough on my feet again!

The support and amount of love & understanding from everyone; my clients, the run club, our members, my friends, the Jetts team, my mum, it has all meant so much to me ❤️

Everything has been happening so quickly and I haven’t even had any time to stop and process anything.

My ADHD magnifies every feeling I feel and I will be forever grateful for my wonderful community 🥰

This is surgery 1 of 2 coming up, with my endometriosis surgery sometime later this year (or early next year), I’ll be in the same boat then. My health has taken a massive hit of late but everything is all getting sorted now and once I’m over the hill, there will be no stopping me 🥹 I’m looking forward to feeling healthy again and not chronically ill and in pain all the time! Just gotta keep swimming right 🐠

Sending love to everyone during this heatwave 🌞🫶💛

Last week I received news that I will be having surgery on my poorly ankle and it’s already been booked in to happen next month ❤️‍🩹

I’ve done all I can to help my ankle the best I can but it’s not healing. I’ve developed a stress fracture on my tibia on the same leg and busted my right hip as a result of my left leg being compromised for so long! This will be my 8th orthopaedic surgery and I’ll be in plaster for six weeks. Damn my hypermobile body and its weak connective tissue!! 🥺

It may not be the news I wanted but it’s going to be a very similar procedure I had done to stabilise my shoulder a couple of years ago. The time off then, made way for all I’m doing now and the downtime I’m going to have coming up is going to pave the way for the next chapter for Leigh Greene Coaching ✨

I sadly won’t be able to take part in abseiling down The Spinnaker Tower next month for but the amazing has very kindly agreed to take my place 🩷

It’s all happening so quickly and I have A LOT to arrange and organise. I’d be lost without the support of my clients, my friends and the community . My heart is full with all of the patience and understanding from everyone while I’ve been going through the motions ❤️

By the end of next month, all of my medical appointments will be done and dusted (until the next lot) and after all these years I’m getting to the bottom of everything. It’s taken a lot of persistence and perseverance to navigate the health system the way I’ve had to but ultimately these last few years have been one of my main inspirations for the next chapter for LGC 💖

I’ll keep everyone posted! 🫶🫶

Sad to hear has had to be cancelled this year 🏳️‍🌈 It must have been such a hard and heartbreaking decision for the organisers and everyone else involved but I’m sure next year will be back bigger and brighter than ever before 🌈✨

This year was actually the first year since 2022 I’ve not been able to go because of my poorly legs and ankle. The universe is still calling and guiding me to making the right decisions that I need to make for the best 🥰

I’ve had some fabulous memories with my beautiful bestie 💙🩷💜 We’ve had some incredibly hilariously fun moments at Pride and shared experienes together that will leave a forever mark. I’m thinking a Pride photoshoot for 2026 is needed so we can have another lot of pics for this year to see just how different we are now and to look back at how much we have grown and changed for the better 🦋

Here’s a look back over the years 2022 - 2025 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️
Happy Pride Month ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

May we all embrace the flows of our journeys and life’s path ✨ Everything is lining up and all that is meant to be, will be. Yesterday’s and yesteryear’s can bring on the most painful of times but when we persevere and use the power and strength of our minds in the most useful and mindful way, things will happen exactly as it is supposed to and you will connect with the people you need to, and have all the experiences meant for you in that moment of time 🤍
It is only then, we become our happiest, healthiest, fittest and most healed versions of ourselves. Peace is possible 🌸

Accept the transitions, put your faith and trust into the universe and she will give you all of what is meant for you. We break, we learn, we heal and most importantly we grow 💫

I appreciate every single person who is in my life (and has been in my life), even though I have no idea what’s around the corner, I will take each day and each moment as it comes.

May you have been beautiful 🫶 THANK YOU 🥰

There is a great awakening happening at the moment and may we all keep moving forward into the light 🌞

Announcement alert 🔔📣

I’m very proud to announce that I am partnering with 💖 This partnership has so many exciting opportunities to come and I feel really privileged to have been asked to work with such an inspiring group of people. Thank you 🫶

Toucan Diversity CIC is a registered disabled-led social enterprise who do some incredible work for disabled people in the local communities both here in Portsmouth and over in the Isle of Wight.

LGC continues to grow and spread their wings. Those wings will be abseiling with me down the Spinnaker Tower in July. There are five of us in total and we are looking to raise £1,500 to help Toucan Diversity CIC continue their amazing work in the community.

As a fitness and wellness coach with lived experience of living with different disabilities, I am so passionate about helping those who are disabled and vulnerable. I know how hard life can be when we are at a disadvantage but if there’s anything I’ve always been sure of, where there’s a will, there is always a way!

Stay tuned and read the slides to find out more. If you would like to donate and support me on my abseiling adventure, the Justgiving page is in my Linktree which you can find in my bio. I would love it if you would be able to as I know on the day, I will be a nervous wreck and having the support will help me go over the edge!! Eeeekk 🥹✌️
