π¨ HIZ-VIZ HEROES: WE OWE YOU ONE π¨
A massive thank you to this weekβs volunteer crew, who once again managed to make the whole parkrun thing look suspiciously organised. π
A special welcome to Damien and Gabriella, who both volunteered for the first time. We hope you enjoyed it enough to come back! π
Somewhere along the line this week, our finish tokens and timing apps decided they no longer wanted to be associated with each other. Quite why remains one of lifeβs great mysteries. π€·ββοΈ
Fortunately, Rapha was on Number Checker duty, manually keeping track of what was actually happening. His checks gave us the information we needed to put everything back in the right order and get the results sorted.
It was a little reminder that parkrun isn't held together by one person doing one job. Itβs a whole collection of people, roles and clipboards quietly doing their thing and covering each other when something goes a bit wonky.
So thank you, Damien, Gabriella, Rapha and everyone else on this week's hi-viz team. Youβre all heroes. π
And remember, volunteering counts towards the new parkrun milestone T-shirts, so thereβs another reason to get involved! Just email us at [email protected] to get involved.
