πŸ† PLAYER OF THE YEAR β€” JOVIN! 🏏πŸ”₯

A fantastic achievement and thoroughly deserved!

Congratulations to Jovin on being named Player of the Year. It’s been brilliant to see his development, hard work and performances continue to progress.

Finishing as the leading run-scorer for the Oxfordshire County Pathway is another great achievement and shows what consistent hard work can produce. πŸ‘

But this is only the beginning.

Keep working. Keep learning. Keep scoring runs. 🏏πŸ’ͺ

Everyone at Pure Cricket Academy is incredibly proud of you, Jovin. 🌟

πŸ”₯ BUILDING A STRONGER, FASTER FAST BOWLER 🏏

Fast bowling starts long before the ball leaves your hand.

This drill is about developing the athletic movement behind pace β€” rhythm, coordination, explosive drive and momentum through the bowling action. ⚑

πŸƒ Strong approach
πŸ’₯ Explosive movement
🏏 Powerful delivery stride
⚑ Transfer energy through the crease
🎯 Finish with control

For young fast bowlers, we’re not just trying to bowl harder. We’re developing the movement patterns that can help them bowl faster, more efficiently and with greater control.

PACE IS BUILT. πŸ”₯

Save this drill and send it to a young fast bowler!

THE ART OF LEG SPIN πŸŒ€πŸ

An 18-year-old right-arm leg-spinner continuing to develop one of the most challenging and exciting skills in cricket.

At this stage, it’s about taking the bowling to another level β€” combining a strong stock leg-break with control, variations and tactical awareness.

πŸŒ€ Spin the ball hard
🎯 Control line and length
🏏 Develop drift, dip and turn
🧠 Read and outthink the batter
πŸ”₯ Bowl with confidence and attacking intent

For me, a good spinner isn’t defined by how many variations they can bowl. It’s about how well they can use their stock ball and create pressure to take wickets.

Keep learning. Keep experimenting. Keep spinning it! πŸŒ€

From hard work to the international stage. 🏏🌍

A huge congratulations to Prarthana Reddy on her selection for the England Women U19 squad, with an exciting tour to India ahead, followed by the ICC Women’s U19 Cricket World Cup.

I’ve had the pleasure of working with Prarthana and playing a small part in her development. It’s always special as a coach to see a young player’s hard work, commitment and belief rewarded at this level.

At Pure Cricket Academy, we believe player development is about more than just technique. It’s about helping young cricketers understand their game, build confidence, perform under pressure and prepare for the next level.

Play. Learn. Improve. Belong.

Congratulations Prarthana. Keep working, keep learning and enjoy every moment of this incredible journey.

YOUNG LEFT-ARM PACE β€” ONE TO WATCH! πŸ”₯🏏

There’s always something exciting about a young left-arm fast bowler developing their craft.

At this stage, it’s not just about bowling quicker. We’re building the foundations that will allow pace to develop naturally:

⚑ Strong, smooth run-up
🏏 Good alignment through the crease
πŸ’₯ Energy and momentum into the delivery
🎯 Consistent line and length
πŸ”₯ Confidence to attack the batter

For young fast bowlers, rhythm first, pace will follow.

Keep developing, keep bowling fast and enjoy the journey!

Would you rather face left-arm pace or left-arm spin? πŸ‘€

A YOUNG LEFT-ARM WRIST SPINNER TO WATCH πŸŒ€πŸ

Left-arm wrist spin is one of the most exciting and challenging skills in cricket.

At this age, I’m not interested in loading a young spinner with too many variations. The priority is developing a strong stock ball and the confidence to spin it hard.

What we’re working on:

πŸŒ€ Maximum revolutions
🏏 A repeatable action
🎯 Consistent line and length
⚑ Energy through the crease
🧠 Confidence to attack the batter

Spin it hard first. Control comes with repetition.

There’s something special about watching a young wrist spinner begin to understand their craft.

Would you fancy facing left-arm wrist spin? πŸ‘€
