Busy Weekend for the Rotherham Youth teams. With the U14s and u16s Away at Grantham Saturday 7th March, and the u16s playing again at home to Sedgefield at Maltby on Sunday 8th March at 16:30. If your around come a support the teams.

A massive well done to the amazing players who represented Rotherham Metro Water Polo Club at the U15s Female National Age Group Championships in Coventry!

The girls finished an incredible 5th out of 14 teams, winning all their games except one — a narrow loss to last year’s champions by just one goal in the final minute. Despite that, they showed true grit, resilience, and fantastic teamwork throughout the competition.

We couldn’t be prouder of how you all played with such passion and determination.

Metro Mens team having success in the Conference league🤩

Rotherham Metro Water Polo Club made short work of Leeds and Castleford with a convincing 20-10 victory. It was a good team performance with goals spread throughout the team. A special mention to Aston Walsh who was involved with everything from front to back and unselfishly set others up rather than take the plaudits himself.

Rotherham Metro Women took on Morley and came out on top with a 12-7 win!

Incredible teamwork from such a young squad — average age just 15.9 years and with a squad of only 9!

Huge thanks to Izzi for leading as Captain, Birchy for top-tier coaching, and Scott for keeping everything running smoothly as Team Manager. 🙌

We are absolutely thrilled to share that Rotherham Metro Water Polo Club has been named Swim England's North East Club of the Year!

This incredible achievement is a testament to the passion, dedication, and teamwork that runs through every part of our club.

It simply wouldn’t have been possible without our inspiring coaches, our tireless volunteers ,our supportive parents and of course, our amazing players who give it their all in and out of the pool.

Water Polo U16 Open Inter-Regional Championships 2025 - Swim England The U16s Open Inter-Regional Championships take place at the Liverpool Aquatic Centre on Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 July. Follow all the scores.

Congratulations to our Girls who represented the NE2010s at the Regional championships in Liverpool over the weekend.
The team finished second in Division 2 to the Scottish National team, losing on head to head goal difference, having lost to them in game 1 but beating them 14-13 in the last game.

The whole team team played amazingly with our own Emily Medlock(GK), Ellen Henry and Jess McLean leading the way as Co captains. With Emily being awarded the team MVP trophy and Ellen taking the Goal Scorer award.

Thanks go to Gabby and Dom for coaching the girls and to Sarah for pulling it all together as the TM, and thanks to the crowd of loud parents who attended and cheered them on.

Statement from coach Gabby:
“what I care about is the girls went in ready to give it their all, they learnt from (losing to Scotland) yesterday and beat the Scottish national teacher . Holding your nerve at the end like that is a massive learning curve and they did it as a team. I am SO SO PROUD OF THEM ALL and the players they're becoming. 🥰

Shout out to our co captains who lead amazingly. Top goal scorer of the tournament and MVP keeping us in the game with a cold calm head.

But everyone did something! A very young squad who stepped up and rose to the challenge in the best way possible. Their sportsmanship was second to non and they did the NE proud in and out of the water. “
