Rugby Taekwon-Do Academy is a martial arts school set up by husband and wife team, Darren and Sue Johnson in 2021. Today, we honor the memory of General Choi Hong Hi (9 November 1918 – 15 June 2002), the Founder of Taekwon-Do.
With gratitude and respect, we remember the man who gave the world this martial art and whose legacy continues to inspire generations of practitioners worldwide.
As one Taekwon-Do family, we proudly carry his vision forward.

Happy Birthday to Taekwon-Do Name!
On 11 April 1955, General Choi Hong Hi officially decided on the name of his newly created martial art and called it Taekwon-Do.
Today, we celebrate not only the birth of a name, but the beginning of a global movement that continues to inspire millions around the world.
Let us all honor the legacy of General Choi Hong Hi by giving our very best in training, teaching, and living according to the principles of Taekwon-Do every single day.
Together, we carry forward the vision of our Founder and strengthen the unity of the worldwide ITF Family.
