💜 PURPLE = FASTER… right?! 😏

This Canyon Grail CF SL has been through the Paddox Cycles workshop for a proper bit of TLC… and it certainly hasn’t left quietly! 😂

As well as a full service, we’ve given it a few tasty upgrades along the way:

🟣 New cassette
🟣 Purple chain – because boring chains are overrated
🟣 Purple aero chainring from Alugear_components
🔧 New bottom bracket
🧼 Headset bearings cleaned, inspected & freshly regreased
🛑 New brake discs & Sinter Green pads

And because fitting the parts is only half the job…

📐 The handlebars were precisely checked and aligned using our VeloTechnics stem alignment tool, before the new Sinter Brakes pads and discs were properly bedded-in on our Sinter Brakes brake bedding machine.

The result?

💜 Purple
✨ Shiny
📏 Straight
🛑 Stops properly
🚀 Ready to get absolutely filthy again!

There’s something about that purple Alugear aero ring against the Grail’s paintwork that just works. 👌

One of my favourite days at Paddox Cycles… New Tool Day! 😍🛠️

There’s something about adding another specialist tool to the workshop that never gets old… especially when it’s travelled all the way from the land down under 🇦🇺 and arrived in less than 4 days! 👏

This is the VeloTechnics Stem Alignment Tool, designed and manufactured by professional mechanic Chris Fry, who’s worked with some of the biggest teams in the world including Groupama-FDJ, Red Bull–BORA–hansgrohe, and Garmin-Cervélo. When a tool has been developed by someone with that level of experience, you know it’s going to be something special.

As modern bikes become more advanced, the tolerances become tighter and the need for precision is greater than ever. This tool allows incredibly accurate checking and alignment of stems and handlebars, helping ensure every bike leaves the workshop set up exactly as it should be.

At Paddox Cycles, I’m always investing in new equipment, specialist tools and training so I can continue to offer the highest standard of service possible. It’s these small details that make a big difference.

A huge thank you to Chris for producing such a brilliant bit of kit and for the incredibly fast shipping.

It didn’t even have time to sit on the bench before it was put straight to work on this Canyon Grail! 🚴‍♂️🔧

🛑 Let’s Talk Brake Pads! 🛑

As bikes get faster, your brakes need to work even harder. And when it comes to brake pads, you really do get what you pay for.

At Paddox Cycles, we only fit premium-quality brake pads that we trust on our own bikes and our customers’ bikes. One of our favourites? Sinter Brake Pads… which pair perfectly with our Sinter brake bedding-in machine for maximum performance straight from the workshop. 😉

Sinter offers three compounds to suit different riders:

🔴 Red – The perfect all-rounder. Great braking performance in all conditions and ideal for everyday riding.

🔵 Blue – Built for durability. Designed for heavier bikes, e-bikes, long descents and riders who want exceptional pad life without sacrificing braking confidence.

🟢 Green – The ultimate performance compound. Trusted by professional race teams, including the Sinter Brakes Racing Team in the UCI Downhill World Championships, delivering up to 36% more braking performance compared to many OEM pads.

Whether you’re commuting, racing, riding an e-bike or heading into the mountains, we’ve got the right brake pad for your bike and riding style.

Not sure which compound is right for you? Pop into the shop and we’ll happily recommend the best option to keep you stopping as confidently as you go! 🚴💨

This was a fun one! 🤩

A brand new Merida Reacto Pro has just rolled through the workshop at Paddox Cycles and is now with its very happy new owner. 🚀

We’ve been really excited for these to arrive, and it’s easy to see why. The latest Reacto has been testing exceptionally well against some of the biggest names in the aero bike world, proving itself to be one of the fastest bikes out there. Merida have absolutely nailed this one.

Our customer decided to keep their own stunning custom-built Strada wheelset, giving the bike an even more unique look. The Reacto Pro comes fitted with DT Swiss ARC 1600 wheels as standard, but we think this custom setup suits it perfectly.

Finished off with Shimano Dura-Ace Di2, deep-section Strada wheels and that gorgeous metallic paint, this is a bike that’s every bit as fast as it looks.

I think we can all agree… this is a serious head-turner! 😍🔥

What do you think of the new Reacto? Would this be your dream bike? 👇🚴‍♂️

🌟 Customer Spotlight – Chloe Eggers 🌟

First of all… sorry this one’s a little late! 😅

A huge congratulations to Chloe Eggers, who last month completed Ironman Austria in an incredible 12 hours and 48 minutes! 💪🏊🚴🏃

Not only is that an amazing achievement in itself, but Chloe also took on the challenge while raising money for the fantastic charity Mind, helping to support better mental health for those who need it most. 💙

An Ironman is no small feat, requiring months of dedication, determination and hard work, so to cross the finish line with such a brilliant time is something to be incredibly proud of.

Massive congratulations from everyone at Paddox Cycles on an outstanding achievement, Chloe! 👏

We look forward to seeing you back in the shop soon – and hearing all about the day! 🚴

🚴‍♂️ PADDOX CYCLES – CLOSED TUESDAY 23RD JUNE 🚴‍♂️

Just a quick heads-up that Paddox Cycles will be closed on Tuesday 23rd June.

I’ll be heading over to the fantastic ABUS HQ in Wetter, Germany, along with visits to both factories, including the main production facility in Rehe. It’s a great opportunity to see first-hand how some of the industry’s leading helmets, locks and cycling products are designed and manufactured.

A big thanks to the team at Bob Elliot & Co Ltd and ABUS Cycling for inviting me along and hosting us. Really looking forward to it!!

Who knows, there may even be a few exciting things to bring back and share with you all! 👀

The shop will be open as normal on Wednesday…

…unless I decide to stay a little longer and squeeze in some riding while I’m there! 😁🚴🇩🇪

Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
