Capricorn 37 – 18 Supremes Blue

A positive end to the group stage for our U14s today in the Merseyside Junior Netball League.

Although the game was forfeited by Supremes Blue and played as a friendly, the girls still treated it like a proper game and put in a really strong performance to come away with a 37-18 win.

There were some lovely passages of play through the court and all of the girls played really well. A good way to finish this stage of the season.

Special mentions to Ellie for her defensive play and Maya for her shooting and work in attack, with both awarded Player of the Match.

OPP POM: Keira

Well done girls ❤️💛

Capricorn 14 - 55 Galaxy Apollo

A tough game for our U13s today in the playoff stage of the Merseyside Junior Netball League.

This was their first time playing Galaxy Apollo, with Apollo coming from Group B, and it proved to be a big test for the girls. Despite the result, the team kept going and worked hard throughout against strong opposition.

That brings the league season to a close for our U13s, and attention now turns to preparing for the upcoming tournaments.

Well done girls ❤️💛

International Women’s Day

Today we’re celebrating the women and girls of Capricorn Netball Club.

From training nights to match days, they bring confidence, teamwork and support to the club every week. We’re proud of all they achieve on and off the court, and grateful for the part they play in making Capricorn what it is.

Capricorn 9 – 61 Kingsmead

A tough game for our U14s today against a very strong Kingsmead side, who were excellent throughout and showed why they are such a strong team.

With players missing, the girls had to adapt and reshuffle, but they kept going and kept trying right to the end. It was a big challenge, but there was still plenty to be proud of in the attitude, effort and team spirit shown across the group.

A special mention to Lottie, who was awarded Player of the Match by coaches Sue and Liz for her movement, especially in the last quarter when she moved into Centre.

It was also lovely to see Chloe and Priya there supporting the team today - a really nice example of the team spirit in this group.

A hard one today, but one to learn from and take into training. ❤️💛

Coaches’ Spotlight | 02/03/26

Some really good work across the groups at training last night, a few players stood out for their effort and how well they put the coaching into practice.

Izabelle & Eleanor (U12)
Izabelle showed great drives, with really solid passing and catching throughout the session. Eleanor’s game play at the end was brilliant, putting what she’d been practising into action when it mattered.

Alice (U13)
Building on last week’s dodging and evading work, Alice did really well with her ex*****on this week. Great progress.

Mia (U14)
Mia did well across all aspects of training last night, listen, worked hard, and her drill ex*****on was spot on. And she does it with a smile too.

Well done girls ❤️💛

Capricorn 28 - 17 Supremes Pinks

A strong team performance from our U14s today.

It took a little time to settle, but once the girls started using the width and moving the ball with more control, we began to build momentum. There were some excellent passages of play through the court and a real determination to earn the result.

Unfortunately, the match ended with an injury to one of the Supremes players in the final quarter. We wish her a speedy recovery.

Chloe made a fantastic contribution, showing great intent and stepping up when it mattered, while the whole squad played their part in a well-earned win.

OPP POM: Keira

Another confident display with plenty to take forward. ❤️💛

Capricorn 15 - 25 Empire Eclipse

A competitive performance from our U13s today in the Merseyside Junior Netball League.

At one stage it was only a couple of points in it and the girls worked hard to stay right in the contest. The conditions didn’t make it easy, although under cover, the rain still managed to soak poor Sandra while umpiring, so thank you as always.

There were some really positive passages of play and we’re seeing confidence continue to grow across the group. The effort and attitude were there again, and that’s something to build on.

POM: Florrie & Millie
OPP POM: Alice

Another step forward with plenty of positives to take into next week. ❤️💛

Coaches’ Spotlight | 23/02/26

Some great work across the groups last night, three players really stood out for how quickly they picked things up and put it into practice.

Maya (U12)
Really good progress with the spin/turning work. Coach Sandra said it just clicked - Maya started rolling away and stepping around the defender to find space, without needing any extra prompts.

Eleanor (U13)
Coach Evie’s pick - learning to dodge and doing it brilliantly. Sharp movement and great awareness.

Meredith (U14)
First taster session and she was a joy to have in. Lovely attitude, fitted in straight away, and came with great enthusiasm, got involved in everything and did everything asked of her.
Coach Sue and Coach Liz were really pleased with how she settled in.

Well done girls

Under 14s Double Header – 14/02/2026

Two very different games for our U14s today, and both showed what this group is made of.

Game 1 – vs Formby (43–35)
A really competitive game. Formby played well and showed great sportsmanship throughout, and they kept the pressure on. We built a steady lead in the first half, but the third quarter tested us as Formby lifted and brought it right back to within one.

The response was excellent. The girls stayed calm, worked hard for each other and tightened up defensively. The energy and discipline in the final quarter made the difference and we finished the game strongly.

Game 2 – vs Supremes Pinks (35–16)
The second game had a different feel. After a tight start, the girls settled and began to control the game. The movement through court became sharper and the communication in defence improved, which helped us build momentum.

There were some really nice passages of play in this one, more patience, better decisions and a calmer approach. Special mention to Liv, who switched into Centre and controlled the game really well.

Credit to Supremes Pinks, who kept battling right to the end.

POM: Olivia
OPP POM: Chloe

Two wins, but more importantly two performances that showed resilience, maturity and teamwork in different ways.

Really proud of the girls today 💛❤️

Under 13s Match Result – 14/02/2026

A narrow one-point game for our U13s today, finishing Capricorn 22–23 Marshalls

The girls are continuing to grow each week and are getting more points on the board, which is great to see. It was a competitive match and another positive step forward for this group.

Well done to everyone for the effort and attitude shown throughout.

POM: Eleanor
OPP POM: Alice

Unlucky on the result, but plenty of progress to take into training 💛❤️
