St Brendan’s Get Off to a Flying Start in Lancashire Championship

St Brendan’s got their Lancashire Championship campaign off to a flying start with an impressive and dominant victory over South Manchester Gaels, running out 4-20 to 1-06 winners.
The Gaels, an amalgamated squad featuring players from St Peter’s and St Lawrence’s, faced a Brendan’s side that started at a blistering pace and quickly established control of the contest.
Brendan’s dominated proceedings from the outset, dictating the play and putting the Gaels under sustained pressure. Their attacking play was rewarded with a strong tally as they continued to build on their advantage throughout the game.
Despite Brendan’s dominance, the Gaels showed plenty of fight and took advantage when Brendan’s were reduced to 14 men following a black card in the final 15 minutes. The Gaels capitalised on the numerical advantage, hitting 1-02 during this period.
However, the damage had already been done, and Brendan’s had built up a commanding lead that saw them comfortably see out the remainder of the game.
A comprehensive 4-20 to 1-06 victory gives St Brendan’s an ideal start to their Lancashire Championship campaign and sets down an early marker for the season ahead.
