Gurston Down Speed Hillclimb THE OFFICIAL GURSTON Speed Hillclimb Venue page Gurston Down Speed Hill Climb is a fast and twisty hill climb course near Broad Chalke in Wiltshire.

Drivers compete in a wide range of cars (and motorbikes) including standard road cars, specially prepared hill climb cars and spectacularly fast fast sport and single seat racing cars. All of them will pit their wits against each other, the clock the famous Speed Hill Climb Venue. Gurston Down Speed Hill Climb has been voted ‘Best British Hill Climb Championship Event Organiser’ for a record nine times. This award is recognition of not just the professional organisation but also the friendly competitive, atmosphere that the organising team brings to all the events at Gurston Down. Shot on a 1954 Kiev II rangefinder camera with a 1961 Jupiter 9 lens (all based on pre-WW2 Zeiss designs and optics), on expired Paterson Acupan 200 black and white film

PS the shop that sold me the film refused me a refund. Never mind

Sunday's film... well, that's a slightly odd story. When I bought this roll of film I knew it was expired and pre-owned. I did think it was unused. It turns out that I was shooting Gilberns and Triumphs over photos of Jon Snow receiving an honorary degree at Portsmouth Uni in 2001...

As usual, at the last Gurston Down round of the season I shot a couple of films. It was helpful to have the film camera ...

As usual, at the last Gurston Down round of the season I shot a couple of films. It was helpful to have the film camera on Saturday when my DSLR failed due to the rain. Good, solid classic engineering from my 1954 Kiev 2 and 1961 Jupiter 9 85mm lens
..at least until the rangefinder fogged up. Oh well
