Riverside Tennis Club

Funding from Sport England in 1997 made a huge difference to the club. This money went a long way in funding the development which saw courts 4/5 being built plus floodlights for the two courts.

We are delighted to announce that we have appointed Mike Barry to become the new Head Coach at Riverside!

Riverside is fortunate to have a first class and dedicated coaching team in Mike, Karina, Jamie and Carolyn and Mike is looking forward to working with the team to develop the coaching further and build on the strengths of our current programme.

NCL Promotion into the regional division was sealed today in a well contested match against Bicester. The match ended 5-1 to Riverside. A huge thank you to the quite frankly amazing amount of people who came to support the team. Well done to the team consisting of Mike, Jake, Jay, Hari and Sam and also to Carlos and Arpad who contributed in the Wiltshire county division. We're looking forward to more high quality tennis next summer! This ends a great summer season for Riverside in the NCL with both our Men's and Ladies A teams being promoted into the regional divisions for the first time in the history of the club!

A huge well done to Karina and her partner Emma who came second in the British Closed ITF Seniors event taking place at Wimbledon this week! A great achievement and a great experience. Great job coach!

A huge couple of days for some of our best juniors. Hari and George Chowdhury teamed up and competed at the Play Your Way To Wimbledon national finals at Wimbledon. Carlos won the prestigious Torquay Open (U16 G3) without dropping a set!

Riverside Tennis Club becomes Wiltshire's First LTA Youth Recognised Venue Riverside Tennis Club is the first club in Wiltshire to become an LTA Youth Recognised Venue.

Well done to Jamie and Jo who won the Barrett Trophy this afternoon. Well done to everyone who played!

Solent Cup Champions! 🏆 The Solent Cup is a play off match between the winners of the Southampton League and the winners of the Portsmouth League. Well done to Sam, Jake, Mike and Jamie who battled hard against Warsash to bring the (huge) trophy home. Well played Warsash and a big thanks also to Totton and Eling for hosting the event.

Riverside Tennis Club has become the first club in Wiltshire to become an LTA Youth Recognised Venue! LTA Youth Recognised Venues have demonstrated that they are committed to delivering an excellent junior programme that offers high quality coaching and regular competitive opportunities for young players.

Coaching sessions are delivered in the style of LTA Youth, which is a modern approach to tennis training. Forget standing around waiting for your turn to hit a forehand - sessions are energetic, fun and the players are always active and being challenged.

This recognition from the LTA is huge for the club and coaching team. This recognition places Riverside amongst some of the top coaching programmes in the country, marking a significant milestone in the growth of the club.
