21 things to do instead of doomscrolling and picking your body apart…
1. Mute accounts that don’t make you feel good about yourself. If it doesn’t lift you up, get it gone.
2. Move your body in a way you enjoy. Notice how capable and strong it feels, and not how it looks in the mirror.
3. Put on a good podcast, mine included for some self-promo (link in bio) and just let your brain switch off for a bit.
4. Make a meal from scratch. Cooking something with your own hands is oddly grounding.
5. Get outside for a bit, even five minutes of fresh air changes your mood.
6. Go and connect with a friend in person, nowt beats face to face time.
7. Put on your all time favourite song and shake your b***y for bonus points.
8. Ring a friend or family member just to have a chat about absolutely nothing.
9. Create a vision board and get excited about what you’re working towards instead.
10. Write a “done” list of everything you’ve achieved lately, big or small - they all count.
11. Write down 3 things you actually like about yourself, anything from appearance, to how you’ve showed up lately.
12. Put on an outfit that makes you feel stun, just because.
13. Declutter or tidy a space, a clear space helps clear your head.
14. Journal for 5 minutes about how you’re honestly feeling, get it out of your head and onto paper.
15. Unfollow and follow accounts so your feed actually reflects real, diverse bodies.
16. Do something kind for someone else, it shifts the focus off you in the best way.
17. Look back at old photos from a favourite memory, not a before and after, just a happy moment that makes you smile.
18. Stretch it out and give your body 10 minutes of care with absolutely no goal attached.
19. Stand in front of the mirror and say one kind thing to yourself out loud.
20. Run a warm bath or shower and focus purely on how the water feels, not how you look.
21. Send a friend a compliment or a thank you message, lift someone else up instead.
Save this for the next time you need a distraction from how doomscrolling is making you feel about your body 📌
