🏏 FESTIVAL WIN FOR THE WOMEN! 🏆

Our Women’s team were back in action this afternoon, heading away to Sedgefield Cricket Club for another festival! 💪

The lasses came away as festival winners, picking up another fantastic festival win! 🏆👏

But, as always, the most important thing was seeing the lasses out there enjoying their cricket, having plenty of fun and playing with a smile on their faces. ❤️

It was also great to come up against sides the lasses haven’t played much in the past, giving everyone the chance to experience some new opposition and enjoy some different challenges. 🏏

What a way to finish the season! 👏

A huge congratulations to James Dent and Pasindu Thirimadura, who both produced outstanding individual performances in our final game against Ryhope 1XI. 🔥

💥 James Dent – 5 wickets for 44 runs from 9 overs

💥 Pasindu Thirimadura – 65 from 70 balls, including 11 fours and 9 sixes!

Two brilliant performances that helped the 1XI finish the 2026 season with a win! 🏆

A brilliant way for our 1XI to finish the season, securing a 25-run victory over Ryhope Cricket Club in the DNECL Division 1! 💪🔥

Dawdon posted 203 all out from 40.5 overs, with Pasindu Thirimadura top-scoring with 65 and Cevat Sahin adding 34.

With the ball, James Dent was outstanding, taking 5-44 as Ryhope were bowled out for 178.

Most importantly, it's a great way to finish the season with a win! 👏

We’re delighted to confirm that Pasindu Thirimadura has committed to the Welfare for the 2027 season! ❤️💛

Pasindu will now head into his 4th season with Dawdon Welfare Cricket Club, and we couldn’t be happier to have him back for another year.

A fantastic player, a great character and a valued part of the club — we’re already looking forward to seeing what 2027 brings! 🔥🏏

As Pasindu heads home next week, we want to wish him safe travels and all the very best. 🇱🇰✈️

🏏 U9s | A Brilliant Evening of Cricket! 🏏

What a fantastic evening for our Hardball U9s, with the kids putting in another brilliant performance against Silksworth Cricket Club.

🔥 Ollie Ewart got us off to the perfect start, taking an incredible 3 wickets in the first over of the game!

Silksworth posted 57-7 from their 16 overs, before our U9s chased it down in style, finishing on 128-4 to secure an 86-run victory. 👏🏏

⭐ Player of the Match: Archy Tizard-Dixon

But more importantly, the kids have been absolutely class all season. Their enthusiasm, effort and enjoyment of the game has been brilliant to watch, and they've continued to improve week after week. ❤️🏏

It was also great to have our U9s Softball side hosting Silksworth. The kids played with smiles on their faces, just as they have done all season, and gave a brilliant effort from start to finish. 🙌

A massive thank you to Silksworth for bringing both sides along and helping make it another great evening for junior cricket.

🏏 MATCH RESULT | U9 FRIENDLY 🏏

A brilliant performance from our U9s as they secured a 56-run victory over Seaham Park Juniors U9s! 👏

Batting first, Dawdon posted an excellent 105-6 from their 16 overs, with Josh Cahill unbeaten on 29 and Ollie Ewart unbeaten on 15.

Seaham Park battled hard in reply but were restricted to 69, giving Dawdon a well-earned victory.
