Wem had a very successful time at last week's county championships.

Sam Parry played excellent tennis in many singles and doubles competitions, beating higher seeded players and winning the under 18 consolation doubles competition with Jonty Barber.

Sam also played in the open mens doubles with his dad, Dave Parry, getting to the semi final playing superb tennis

Dave and Andy Hawke had tremendous success, winning the men's 35+ doubles against very strong opposition.

Dave had further success, partnering with Mark Wilson to win the men's 55+ doubles competition, against other county players.

So, an excellent set of results for Wem's representatives.

Congratulations to our amazing players who keep the Wem club name on the roll of honour.

A huge congratulations for completing the refurbishment of the Wem Community Tennis and Pickleball courts. This is a fantastic space and I'm sure it's going to get a lot of use. A big shout out to Penny for leading the project, it wasn't a simple task and took a lot of planning but it's been completely worth it.

The Tennis club is here to support and if anyone needs any help with Pickleball or Tennis then please do get in touch.

If you'd like to use the courts, please take a look at this page.

Dear Members, Parents and Guardians and potential new members!

We're excited to explore the idea of bringing back a dedicated Ladies' Club Night at Wem Tennis Club - and we'd love your help in shaping it.

In the past, we ran a weekly ladies' session, but as numbers dipped it made sense to move to mixed club nights. The great news is that our ladies' membership has grown significantly over the last couple of years, and we're now in a strong position to reintroduce a session just for our lady players.

This time, we want to open the door even wider.

Whether you're a current member, a parent or guardian of a junior, or someone who simply fancies giving tennis a try in a friendly, supportive environment - you are warmly invited to take part. The aim is to create a relaxed weekly session where women of all ages and abilities can play, socialise, and feel part of the club community.

Please note: this session is for adults only and is not open to children.

If you're not yet a member, that's absolutely fine. Come along, give it a go, and see how you enjoy it. If it turns out to be something you'd like to continue with, we'd be delighted to welcome you properly with our very competitive reduced first‑year membership plan.

To help us plan the best possible session - day, time, format, and level - please take a moment to fill out the short form below. Your feedback will shape how Ladies' Night looks and runs.

We'd love to get as many people involved as possible.

Warm regards,

Dear Ladies of Wem Tennis Club, I’d love to hear your thoughts on bringing back a dedicated weekly Ladies’ Club Night. We used to run one in the past, but as numbers dipped it made sense to move to two mixed club nights instead. The great news is that our ladies’ membership has grown strongly ...
