💙 From Baby Swimmer to Swim Teacher! 💙

There are moments that make us incredibly proud, and today is definitely one of them.

Today, Amie officially passed her Swim Teacher qualification at just 16 years old! 🎉🏊‍♀️

Amie’s journey with Aquarius Swimschool began when she was just 11 weeks old, attending our Adult & Child classes. She joined our preschool classes at just over 2 years old, and at only 2½ years old she swam her very first 25 metres completely unaided – an incredible achievement for someone so young.

She continued swimming with Aquarius throughout her childhood before joining our team as an Assistant Instructor at the age of 14. Over the past two years, she has gained invaluable experience supporting our teachers and helping hundreds of swimmers build their confidence in the water.

Today, she has taken the next step in her journey by becoming a fully qualified Swim Teacher.

This achievement is made even more special because Amie is following in the footsteps of her mum, Tracey, who was a valued Swim Teacher and Manager at Aquarius Swimschool from 2014 to 2020. It’s wonderful to see that passion for teaching swimming continue into the next generation.

Watching Amie grow up through our swim school and achieve this milestone has been a privilege. She is a shining example of what can be achieved through dedication, hard work and a love of swimming.

🎉That’s a wrap on our Summer Term!🎉

We finished our term on a high note with our vital Water Safety Week!

We were incredibly lucky to have some expert help this week form our very own resident Coastguard, Natalie! She helped us teach the vital skills from the RNLI ‘Float to Live’ campaign, ensuring our swimmers know exactly what to do to stay safe!

We are proud of all our swimmers and how hard they worked on their floating and survival skills. Have a wonderful summer break, we can’t wait to see you back in September! ☀️💙

There are loads of exciting activities for children to enjoy, including:

Makaton Monday 💙

On Monday our Aquarius staff took part in makaton training led by Paul. We want our swimschool to be as inclusive as possible which is why we take time to learn different ways to communicate with our swimmers 👍

🚔👮🏻‍♀️ Emily is getting locked up! 👮🏻‍♀️🚔

Tomorrow, Thursday 5th March, Emily will be spending the day behind bars for one very serious offence… excessive use of the word POWER! 💪⚡

You might recognise Emily – she’s Lisa’s third daughter and often steps in to cover when needed. Now it’s our turn to step in for her!

We need your help to bail her out! All bail money raised will go directly to North Devon Hospice 💙

Three years ago, our sister company SMART Swim Centre took on ownership of South Molton Pool – and what an incredible journey it’s been!

From day one, their vision, passion and commitment have transformed the pool into the thriving, successful community hub it is today. We couldn’t be prouder of everything they’ve achieved and the amazing team behind it. 💙

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported them along the way – staff, swimmers, families, volunteers and the wider community. You’ve all played a part in this success story!

And don’t forget…
🌊 All of our swimmers aged under 16 get FREE public swim when accompanied by a paying adult! 🌊

It’s our way of encouraging even more time in the water, building confidence, and keeping our young swimmers active outside of lessons.

Three years ago today, we took on ownership of South Molton Pool.
It was such a big secret to keep at the time – but so worth it!

We couldn’t be prouder of what has been achieved since then. Together, we’ve transformed this pool into the thriving, successful centre it is today.

Thank you to every single person who has supported us, believed in us, swum with us, trained with us, volunteered with us, and championed us along the way.
