🎣 Seven Carp on David's First Visit to Glovers!

Not a bad way to introduce yourself to a new lake!

David joined us on Glovers for the first time between 2nd and 5th October, spending three nights on Peg 7 and finishing with an impressive seven carp, including two fish over 35lb! 👏

🐟 Commons: 18lb, 20lb, 22lb, 25lb and 36lb
🐟 Mirrors: 27lb and 35lb

And the approach? Refreshingly straightforward.

David fished single bottom baits around five yards off the far bank, using simple knotless-knot hair rigs with mono hooklinks and size 8 or 4 hooks.

His bait of choice was Carp Company Icelandic Red Cranberry & Caviar - a boilie he's been using for 20 years and, in his own words, has never blanked with!

Conditions varied through the session, with temperatures reaching 20°C before cooler weather arrived, generally high atmospheric pressure and a mixture of south-westerly and westerly winds.

Seven fish, two over 35lb and a first visit to remember.

🎣 Off the Mark on Middle Pool!

Steve was off the mark on Middle Pool's Peg 47 on 3rd October with a lovely 19lb 11oz carp!

A little attention to hookbait presentation was part of his approach, trimming a quarter off a Mainline pineapple wafter and adding a quarter of a pop-up to help it sit up just how he wanted.

The hookbait was presented on a fluorocarbon Ronnie rig over a mixture of 15mm Mainline Cell boilies from our on-site tackle shop, yellow groundbait and sweetcorn.

🎣 Two PBs in One Session for Josh on Middle Pool!

What a session for Josh on Peg 21 of Middle Pool on 1st October - three carp landed and two new personal bests! 🏆

Things started with a lovely 14lb 2oz common, before Josh landed an 18lb mirror to set a new PB.

But he wasn't finished there!

His third fish of the session was a cracking 23lb common, breaking the PB he'd only just set! 👏

All three carp fell to Mainline ISO Fish, with the session taking place during a mild but wet spell, with south-westerly winds and rising atmospheric pressure.

🎣 A New PB from Quarry for Stephen!

A little persistence paid off for Stephen during his session on Quarry's Peg 7 on 29th September, landing a cracking 33lb common carp and setting a new personal best! 🏆

With the w**d proving challenging, Stephen managed to find a clear spot and presented a yellow pop-up over a bed of particle and boilie.

Then, at 6:20am, the rod screamed off!

Conditions had been fairly mild, with temperatures reaching 20°C, a fresh easterly wind and falling atmospheric pressure.

A fantastic reward for putting in the effort to find the right spot on one of our more challenging waters.

🎣 43lb 9oz from Glovers - A New PB for Josh!

What a session on Glovers for Josh, who landed two carp during his weekend visit, including this magnificent 43lb 9oz fish! 👏

And to make it even better, it's a new personal best, beating his previous PB of 38lb 3oz caught on Quarry just six weeks ago.

Josh was fishing PVA bags with DNA Bug Half Tones wafters, introducing a few Spombs of h**p and corn over the top towards the far margin.

A great result for Harry, who spent 25th–27th September fishing alongside his mate Josh Boote.

Harry came away with a cracking 32lb 6oz common, setting himself a new personal best on Glovers! 👏

🎣 Twice on the Dam - Twice at 10am!

Two separate 24-hour sessions on Dam Pool for Ash, and two very similar results from the margins.

The first came on 29th September, when a 25lb carp picked up a match-the-hatch Cell wafter at 10am, fished with a small scattering of boilies in the margin. 👏

Then Ash returned on 1st October and, remarkably, 10am produced again - this time a 17lb 8oz carp, caught from the margin on a Krill wafter with a scattering of boilies.

Both fish came from the margin, despite quite a change in conditions between the two sessions - from a warmer, breezy 29th to a cooler and much wetter start to October.

A cracking start to the weekend for David on Glovers, with this superb 32lb 8oz mirror on 25th September. 👏

Keeping things simple, David fished a Mirage Lion 🦁 bottom bait on a straightforward hair rig, over a spread of boilie - and it produced this lovely thirty.

🎣 Back on the Spot - Rewarded on Quarry

A good bit of persistence from Ronnie during a 24-hour session on Quarry, fishing from Peg 11.

Ronnie had his first chance at around 10pm, unfortunately losing the fish to a hook pull. Rather than changing things, he made a quick recast straight back onto the same spot.

At 4am, the rod was away again — this time resulting in a 22lb mirror on the bank. 👏
