There’s a lot more being taught in a dance class than the steps ✨

We want our pupils to become skilled dancers and performers, but we also want them to learn to share their ideas, support the people around them, persevere when something is difficult and believe that they’re capable of more than they might initially think.

Because the children in front of us will eventually grow up.

And while we hope dance remains part of their lives for a very long time, the confidence, creativity, resilience and kindness they develop along the way can go with them everywhere 💛

We think that’s kinda chic.

ONE WEEK TO GO! 🥳✨

Our new term begins on Monday 7th September and we’re so excited to get everyone back in the studio.

If your child has been asking to try dance, September is a brilliant time to start. We offer Ballet, Tap, Modern, Acro and Musical Theatre, with classes from 18 months through to teens.

Not sure which class is right for them? That’s absolutely fine. Come along for a FREE trial and let them experience a class for themselves 💗

One of our favourite things about exam days 💗

Of course we’re incredibly proud of what our students achieve in the exam room, but there’s so much more to the experience than the final result.

Preparing together, encouraging each other, managing those pre-exam nerves and then sharing the excitement of the day with friends are all part of it.

We love these little in-between moments just as much as the polished ones ✨

So proud of this lovely group and everything they worked towards together.

As much as we love teaching, there is something VERY exciting about someone else taking charge of the music, choreography and counting while we just get to dance!

A little Wicked Summer Camp throwback 💚🩷

We packed so much into our week together, from dancing and singing to acting, creating and performing, with plenty of Wicked-inspired fun along the way!

We love seeing how confidently the children throw themselves into things like this by the end of camp. Sometimes the moments that look the silliest are also the ones where they’re learning to perform without feeling self-conscious, commit to an idea and have fun as a group.

We’re still not quite ready to leave Oz behind… ✨

Back to ballet soon? Save this one! 🩰

Here’s our quick tutorial for creating a neat and secure high ballet bun ready for class.

A good ballet bun doesn’t need to be absolutely perfect. The important thing is that the hair is neat, secure and away from the dancer’s face so they can concentrate on dancing rather than fixing their hair!

Definitely one to save for those busy dance mornings 💗

To celebrate effort. To try again. To care about progress more than perfection. To let children be children while still believing they’re capable of brilliant things.

There are so many things we hope our pupils learn in dance class that have absolutely nothing to do with learning the steps.

And we think that’s kinda chic ✨
