It’s here! Today marks the first day of Drowning Prevention Week 2026!

We are equipping children and young people with essential water safety and lifesaving skills ahead of the summer holidays.

Through education and awareness, we are working towards communities free from drowning. But to achieve this, we need your help.

Whether you’re a parent, carer, school, club, business, or organisation, get involved, join us to spread vital water safety messages this week.

Drowning is preventable, and together, we can save lives. 🛟

With the support of hundreds of partners and communities nationwide, we’re working together to raise awareness and help prevent drowning.

We want everyone to enjoy going for a swim, but with more and more people heading to the water and tragic drowning incidents once again highlighting the potential risks, below is some key water safety advice to help keep safe around the water:

Know the Water Safety Code

🛑Stop and think; always swim in a safe place
🏊Swim in supervised, lifeguarded areas
🌊Enter the water slowly and carefully

Stay together 🤝
Stay within reach of others, and keep children in arms reach at all times

Float 🛟
If you fall in or become tired, float on your back, breathe, relax and call for help

🚨If you see someone in an emergency:

📞 Call 999 (If you're at the coast, ask for the Coastguard, if you’re inland ask for Fire and Rescue)
🗣 Tell the person in the water to float on their back, breathe, relax
🟡 Throw them something that floats

A quick reminder to secure your child’s place in the upcoming term of swimming, payment is due no later than midnight on Sunday 24th May 2026.

Please do let us know in advance if your space is no longer required. We are currently holding waiting lists for most classes.
