This week's POM ⚽💪🏻

Our number 9 Zuzanna! 🏆🏆

Playing in a relatively new position at full back, she left the team putting us on the front foot from minute one. Strong in the tackle, first to the ball, calm under pressure and always looking to make the killer through ball for our attackers.

Well done Zuzanna, thoroughly deserved.

💛🖤 A GREAT DAY FOR PENHILL! 🖤💛

A really good day for our Penhill youth teams today, with the majority of our teams coming away with wins! ⚽️👏🔥

Whilst we all love winning — and believe me, we LOVE winning! 😂 — football is about so much more than the result.

It’s about the lessons we learn along the way, the friendships we make, the confidence we build and the character we develop.

Win, lose or draw, we teach our players respect. 🫡

Respect for their teammates, coaches, opponents, officials and, most importantly, themselves.

A massive WELL DONE to everyone who pulled on the Penhill shirt today. 💛🖤 You should all be proud of yourselves!

And as always, a massive shout-out to our fantastic sponsors who continue to support our youth teams:

💛🖤 A TOUGH AFTERNOON FOR PENHILL 🖤💛

Not the result Penhill wanted as we crash out of the Wiltshire County FA Junior Cup with a 5–0 defeat.

Whilst the scoreline looks harsh, Penhill were ultimately undone by a very slow start.

Just 10 minutes in, the Ashton Keynes striker produced an absolute worldy from around 35 yards, crashing off the bar and down to give them the lead.

Only a few minutes later, their winger tried to put a cross into the box, but a defensive leg took a wicked deflection and sent the ball past a diving Bailey and into the net.

Then, after around 20 minutes, we found ourselves 3–0 down following a soft penalty decision. Bailey went the right way, but it was struck well and found the corner.

To the lads’ credit, we rallied and saw the half out without allowing things to completely get away from us.

A change of formation at half-time saw Penhill come out for the second half much stronger, more positive and more composed.

For around 30 minutes, Penhill were the better side. We moved the ball better, competed harder and created opportunities, but unfortunately couldn’t find the goal we needed.

Then, against the run of play, Ashton Keynes were awarded another penalty and made it 4–0.

That one really deflated us and, late on, we conceded a fifth to round off what had been a frustrating afternoon.

Credit to Ashton Keynes, who are three divisions above us. Overall they deserved the win and we wish them all the very best in the next round of the cup. 👏

For Penhill, it’s about learning from it, putting it behind us and getting back to league football.

We go again. 💛🖤⚽️

UP THE HILL!
