A tough task!

We started brightly going 1-0 up and looking good strong and confident despite a few illnesses in the morning that had us warming up with only 10 players and left us down to 12 for the full match however the ladies did not let that effect them!

Asfordby got one back much to our managers and fans annoyance as she looked clearly offside! Watching the veo back we can confirm this to be the case by a good few yards but that’s grassroots football for you!

We again went 2-1 up after a magical run and strike from Lily who Asfordby just could not deal with all game!

A good break and some lovely play from Asforby caused them to hit the bar unfortunately we was asleep and there winger sent the rebound straight into the top corner that we all had to just watch and admire!

At 2-2 the game was stalemate we hit the crossbar and then missed a few good chances ourselves and Asfordby had a few good attacks too!

Becky leaving at halftime and summer getting injured meant Tiana stepped in on the back line to try and keep things composed and they did for large part of the game.

Unfortunately in the last 10-15 a ball over the top that we all reacted to slowly was unfortunately passed back across the box to there striker to gift them the final goal again these things happen in football we learn and we move on from it. However the ladies showed they can more than just compete with a very well established team who play a league above us something for this new rebuilt side can be very proud off!

We look ahead to the league now to give our best account for this season as we aim to progress back into the regional leagues next season ❤️

Due to illness and injury we are again looking for a couple more consistent and committed players for the ladies first team we are also welcoming new or old players to come train or join the first or reserves as we prepare for the season ahead if so don’t hesitate to get in touch 😄

💗 Tough result to take Sunday

A very tough result to take on Sunday. We have a full squad full of talent, but from the off we allowed Asfordby to take control of the game and, unfortunately, we just weren’t at the races.

We went into half-time 3–0 down. We made a few changes in the second half and, from the chances we created, we managed to grab a goal through returning player and Player of the Match, Lavaya. 💪⚽

A special mention to Lavaya, who played a fantastic 75 minutes just 8 weeks after giving birth. 👏💗

And welcome back to Lillie-Ann, who pulled on a Brookside shirt again just 7 weeks after giving birth to her little one. 💕👏

Well done to both girls,incredible effort and commitment. 💪

It’s a game we need to put behind us, learn from, and move forward and Onto the next one! 💗⚽
