Created in memory of Matt Jordan, whose passion for grassroots football, boundless positivity and infectious enthusiasm left a lasting mark on everyone at Cold Ash Boys & Girls FC, the shield recognises a coach who embodies our club ethos and reflects the positivity, encouragement and love of the game that Matt was so well known for. ❤️

Nominated by parents and coaches, it celebrates those who make a lasting impact on our players, families and the wider club.

Ben is a thoroughly deserving recipient. His engaging approach to coaching, commitment to making football enjoyable and inclusive for every player, and unwavering encouragement perfectly reflect the values this award celebrates. His patience and belief in every player have helped build not only a competitive team, but one where the children genuinely love coming to football each week. 🤩

Ben was presented with the award by last year’s recipient, Rich, continuing the tradition of passing the shield from one deserving recipient to the next.

🏆 Fair Play Champions! 🔥

Huge congratulations to our Cold Ash Fire U13s on winning the Peter Houseman League Fair Play Award for the 2025/26 season.

The team achieved the highest Fair Play score across all five divisions in the league, with an outstanding 97.93/100, and also finished a close second overall in the league’s Respect Award with 97.87/100.

For us, this is what grassroots football should be about. We want players to compete and develop in their football, but also learn values like respect, teamwork and sportsmanship, and this award is a great sign that those values are coming through.

A huge well done to every player, and to coaches George and Shane, for creating an environment where playing the game the right way is just as important as the result.

Another brilliant day at our 2026 Summer Football Tournament 💙⚽️

Day 2 brought more fantastic football, huge smiles, great energy, and everything that makes grassroots football so special. 🙌🏆

A massive thank you to all the players, coaches, referees, families, and supporters who joined us today and helped create such a brilliant atmosphere throughout the day. 😁

And of course, thank you to our amazing team of volunteers. Your hard work, energy, and dedication made this tournament possible, and we truly couldn’t have done it without you. 🙌

Our 2026 Summer Football Tournament is looking sharp and ready! ⚽️🏆

Over 2000 players, 1400+ fixtures, 270 teams, 40+ trophies, 31 referees, 11 pitches, 28 goals, 22 respect barriers and lots more all ready for another fantastic weekend of grassroots football.

We are looking forward to welcoming everyone over the next two days. 🤗

🚨TOURNAMENT UPDATE🚨

The safety and wellbeing of players, coaches, volunteers, and spectators remains our top priority, and we’ve been closely monitoring weather conditions. ☀️

Based on the latest Met Office forecast, we are planning for the tournament to go ahead as scheduled. Temperatures are expected to be around 27–28°C on Saturday afternoon, with possible cloud cover which should help moderate conditions. Sunday’s weather conditions remain perfect weather for football.

To help keep everyone safe and comfortable, we have put the following measures in place:

⏱️Reduced game time to 6mins on Saturday afternoon (this will be confirmed at the managers briefing)

😎Additional gazebos around pitches to offer some shade and hydration areas

🏠Clubhouse outdoor space available under a large outdoor canopy

💦Free water refill point by the clubhouse

⛑️Onsite First Aid provision available throughout the day

👀Ongoing monitoring of player welfare

We ask for your support in helping players prepare:

🧢Wear hats when not playing

🧴Apply sunscreen before arrival and regularly throughout the day

💧Bring a clearly named water bottle

🧃Stay well hydrated before and during the event

🎽Wear light, breathable clothing

🗣️Report any symptoms such as dizziness, fatigue, or feeling unwell immediately

Another weekend of tournaments and more Cold Ash football memories. 🏆💙🩷

⚽️ U10 Hawks were crowned winners at the EC7 Tournament after a fantastic day of football, with coach Matt Thompson also picking up the Respect & Fair Play Award. 👏

💙 U8 Dynamos also enjoyed success at the EC7 Tournament, bringing home the trophy after some brilliant performances.

🦉 U12 Owls continued their run of form by winning the Basingstoke Colts Youth Tournament.

🩷 U8 Wildcats were tournament winners once again, this time at the Tilehurst Panthers Tournament after another brilliant display from the team.

What a fantastic few weeks of tournament football for our teams! 👏🏆

⚽️ Phoenix U12s secured their first-ever tournament victory at the Burghfield Tournament, showing incredible resilience before winning both the semi-final and final on penalties to lift the trophy.

💙 U11 Jets enjoyed a brilliant weekend, winning the Burghfield Tournament Cup on Saturday before finishing runners-up at the Westwood Tournament on Sunday.

🦉U12 Owls continued their excellent form by securing back-to-back tournament trophies, winning both the Winklebury Wizards Tournament and the Radley Youth Tournament Plate Trophy after a series of outstanding performances.

🩷 Our U8 Wildcats were outstanding at the Thatcham & Newbury Ladies Tournament, producing some fantastic performances on their way to lifting another trophy.

These achievements are a testament to the hard work, commitment and teamwork shown by all of our players, coaches and families throughout the season.
