Aquatics Community Engagement Event - Save the Date

Clubs, volunteers and members of the aquatics community are invited to the Aquatics Community Engagement Event on Sunday 1 November 2026 at Blackwell Grange Hotel, Darlington.

This event, organised by Swim England's Matt Martin will provide an opportunity to hear the latest updates from Swim England, take part in workshops focused on key club topics, network with fellow volunteers and club representatives, and share ideas to help strengthen aquatics across the North East.

📍 Venue: Blackwell Grange Hotel, Darlington
🍽️ Hot lunch provided

It’s not goodbye… it’s au revoir to Max, Jess, Holly and Ben as they head off to new adventures after their fantastic A‑Level results.

Together they’ve contributed 42 years to the club — their hard work in training and competing has been matched by their positive influence as role models and ambassadors for the club - coaching our younger swimmers, and serving as Club Captains and Vice Captains.

Max and Jess are heading to Sheffield — Max to study History and Jess to study Sports Science. Holly is off to Stirling to study Paramedic Science, and Ben is taking time out from studying to focus on swimming at York City.

We’re so proud of everything they’ve achieved and wish them all the best!

They leave a big gap behind them, and their squad mates will miss them hugely — we can’t wait to see them back at the Yorkshire Champs and during the holidays!

TWHST was in the spotlight today, and absolutely shone.

The Kingston upon Hull Swimming Club County Qualifier Meet in Leeds brought together talented swimmers, dedicated coaches and support squads that could be heard for miles!

The lights were bright, the lanes were fast, and every swimmer locked in.

We may be small, but we are mighty.

Results to follow, but well done to all of our swimmers and thank you to the officials that made the day glide x

Wow, what a weekend we had at the Level Water 24 hour swim relay at Ellerton Lake. It had everything from challenge, camping, sunshine, rain, marshmallows, superb guitarist, friendship, and so well organised.

Everyone was well and truly out of their comfort zone and they nailed it. We loved seeing the smiles coming in from each swim despite the cold 🥶, (it was also described as lush!), the dark, the one hour on/off or other shift pattern, even the 2 hour long graveyard slots when you could just roll onto your back and look up to the stars ✨ and moon 🌙 in between the brightly lit buoys and that random lost red light on the lake floor each time you got near the second turn buoy reassuring you that you were actually swimming the right way!

We were counting laps to see which Thirsk team swam the most, but overnight we lost count 🤣, however we gained far more from the experience.

The final hour every team member was able to join together to swim the last laps, of course we did it in style with fancy dress, to kick and chat the course.

Tent drying, warm showers and armchair naps have been the order of the afternoon. Who’s up for this next year?

All of this was raising money for enabling disabled children to access swimming lessons. Some of those children from the local Borocudas swim club came along to share their stories and swim in the lake. If you’d like to donate it’s not too late⬇️
