EDUCATION: PREMIER LEAGUE PRIMARY STARS🟡🔵
We were delighted to welcome partner school, Lift Barton Hill to Plainmoor, the home of Torquay United AFC, for our Premier League Primary Stars No Room for Racism workshop.
The session provided learners with an opportunity to explore racism across sport, understand the importance of challenging discrimination and consider how individuals, organisations and communities can work together to promote equality, inclusion and respect.
Throughout the morning, learners took part in a range of engaging, educational activities, including a presentation on No Room for Racism, a behind the scenes stadium tour and creative challenges designed to reinforce the key messages of the workshop.
A particular highlight was the opportunity for learners to step onto the pitch, thanks to our grounds team, and gain an insight into the preparations that take place at Plainmoor ahead of matchday. They also visited the players’ dressing room, bringing them closer to the professional football environment.
The session concluded with learners designing their own Torquay United shirts and creating No Room for Racism armbands, providing a creative way to demonstrate their commitment to equality and standing together against racism.
