What a brilliant couple of days! ⛵️💙

That’s the first of two RYA Start Yachting courses, with all four of our candidates successfully finishing the course! 🎉

There were lots of new skills learnt, plenty of time on the helm, lots of laughs and, most importantly, four very happy sailors at the end of it. 😊⛵️

A huge thank you to Torbay on the Move for making these courses possible and giving our members the opportunity to get out on the water, have a go and build their confidence and sailing skills.

And a big well done to our fabulous four — you absolutely smashed it! 💙

Now we’re looking forward to welcoming the next group aboard in September! ⛵️

🐬 Just another day on the water with the DSA… ⛵️💙

Some absolutely fantastic footage captured by one of our skippers, Ray, during a recent day sail, when a pod of dolphins decided to come along for the ride! 🐬

There are some moments on the water that you just never get tired of — and having dolphins playing alongside the boat is definitely one of them.

This is what sailing is all about: getting out on the water, sharing incredible experiences and never quite knowing who might turn up to join you! 💙⛵️

Huge thanks to our skipper for capturing this brilliant footage.

💜🦋 Celebrating 🦋💜

Today we join so many others in remembering and celebrating the incredible legacy of Clare Milne — a lady whose kindness, determination and passion for helping others continues to create opportunities and change lives.

The Disabled Sailing Association has been incredibly fortunate to receive the support of The Clare Milne Trust, whose amazing £30,000 grant helped us purchase our newest accessible sailing boat, Free Spirit 2 ⛵

Because of this generosity, more people with disabilities, their families, friends and carers can experience the freedom of being out on the water — building confidence, learning new skills, making memories and enjoying adventures that may otherwise have felt out of reach.

Every smile, every new sailor, every moment of independence and achievement aboard Free Spirit 2 is part of Clare’s continuing legacy. 💜

From everyone at the DSA — our members, volunteers and sailors — thank you to The Clare Milne Trust for believing in what we do and helping us make sailing accessible for all.

Clare’s kindness continues to ripple far beyond the shore. 🌊🦋
