Today’s match highlights with a well deserved victory from the boys

Today we travelled to Ayr to play a very close matched game a day we can look back and be proud of everything we do week in and week out,

Energy and an understanding of what was required today helped us take early control and moving the ball around, we fell behind by not clearing our lines but quickly went down the park to slot in a great finish from Charlie Moffat,

HT

We started again and were slightly slow to start and allowed a bit of pressure on ourself, was a tactical change from the other team to try get control of the game but we again held on but a laps of concentration saw us go 2-1 down, now comes a moment of magic from 2 players after weeks and weeks of getting the idea of quick dangers throw ins on the park we do it Euan Dunlop with the assist and if you watch the video Charlie with the magic moment with his right foot, what a goal 👏 ⚽️ 2-2 game on

A lot more ball manipulation around the park and we break down the left and a strike partnership 1-2 with Callum and Charlie and a finish saw us take the game 3-2 into the dying minutes of the game, we had to hold on as they threw everything at us but we rallied and everyone on the park gave the lot to hold on for the victory

What a game to be a part of and watch Mon the Troon 🔵 ⚫️ 🔵

Match day 6,

What a match day, wind was blowing, rain was falling, and goals were plenty,

Today we hosted Irvine meadow blue at Marr playing fields, park was brilliant despite the weather,

First half was started in the best of fashions with an early goal scored by Charlie a well slotted finish after a driving run away from his defender, the boys were caught napping a few moments later and allowed the equaliser, but a quick reset and we were on our way again, more goals came from Archie Kerr, jude Reid and Charlie again, all well worked moves with great finishing on show,

4-1 going into half time HT

Second half Irvine meadow came firing out the blocks as expected, bringing the game back to 4-2 a quick fire double from Dee following in the shot to have easy finishes saw us take back a commanding 6-2 lead, eager for more goals our defence got caught out by a long ball and it gave life back into the travelling team, before we knew it it was 6-5 and we had to rally again to push for a goal and that came from Ruaridh Connor, not one for getting on the score sheet but well deserved finish to finish the game

Our focus now turns to the Scottish cup where we will be hosting Annan at Marr playing fields on Saturday a very well anticipated game we look forward to,

Tough day today, a depleted team, with key omissions. But the team turned up and done there best today, maybe just one of those days in front of goal as nothing found the back of the net today despite hitting the crossbar and having a number of good chances,

We fell behind to an early goal, which was disappointing but after that we took control of the game and had a great few chances in front of goal, loads of passion and pressing, and then we were awarded a penalty after Olly got taken down in the box after some quick footwork,

Penalty ❌ off the bar, in at half time 0-1 down

After the break we started as we finished pushing and probing but nothing happened in front of goal despite the effort, a goal against the run off play made it 2-0, another error shortly after saw us fall further behind and at this point heads were down and energy was gone, with 1 sub the squad was on the floor and that was the end of the story for our Saturday,

We dust ourselves off and we go again on Tuesday

Match day 4 (summer league)

Today we made a change in captaincy and gave the arm band to Finlay Cummings

Another tough game, against glenburn blues,

A strong start to the game saw us take the lead with energy and passing, a goal by Callum Cambridge ⚽️ got us moving, the tight tense game continued and we took another chance from Callum again and it found the back of the net from distance⚽️ glenburn rallied and before we knew it it was back to 2-2, just before half time we took the lead again and it was a captains goal by Finlay Cummings ⚽️ in what was a deserved lead going into half time,

After half time we started as we finished and pressed but glenburn got the next goal to level it before an outrageous effort from Bryce Coll ⚽️ put up ahead for the 3rd time, with the score sitting at 4-3 and around 60 minutes played we started to let small error come into play and glenburn capitalised on it and got back level, we conceded a penalty moments later and for the first time in the game we were behind 4-5 the boys really struggled to deal with the closing part of the game and glenburn ran away 4-7 winners

Plenty to take from the game and positives, the team are showing them selfs they have all the tools to play at this level, very minor errors but we learn and we grow as a group and push onto the next match,
