Tynemouth At Longsands Surf School, we operate a school & club from Tynemouth Longsands beach, situated at the end of the south prom, next to the old swimming pool.. Our surf instructors are RLSS qualified lifeguards and CRB checked, as well as holding either A.S.I. qualifications (Association of surfing institute) or 'SurfingGB' coaching certificates. For complete beginners, our friendly & encouraging coaching style makes our lessons the perfect start. All equipment is supplied however you will need to bring a large towel & some warm clothing.

We’ve got our kids club on every weekend on Saturday and Sunday!!

As well as this we are super excited to bring out our kids intro to surfing course 🏄‍♀️🏄‍♂️ With the purchase of 3 surf sessions you get access to 4 progressive lessons where we will get your child to go from standing up for the first time to beginning to turn and catch their own waves, how exciting is that??!!!

If your child has been to one of our sessions, you’ll know we teach more than just surfing!

Alongside learning to surf, we teach sea safety, ocean awareness and valuable life skills, while helping the kids build confidence, independence and a real respect for the sea. 🌊💙

It’s fantastic seeing the kids grow in confidence, learn new skills and have loads of fun along the way!
