Nobody gets good at Choi Kwang Do instantly AND that's the point. 💪🏾

A child who has spent a year failing at something in front of other people and comes back anyway, has learned something no classroom can teach them.

They stop believing that being bad at something was a reason to stop.

Ask any adult which life lesson they WISH they had learned at the age eight...

Most children answer the question 'how was it?' with one word. 🥋

Ask them what they are proud of instead and you'll get a full sentence!

This works because a child training Choi Kwang Do has something to be proud of most weeks, and that steady supply of small proof is what changes them.

Today is World Mental Health Day.

Children rarely say they're struggling. It shows up as irritability, a sore stomach on a school morning, or the child that gone quiet in a room they normally would run around in.

Parents, if you get a 'nothing' the first time you ask, don't leave it there. Try again later, side by side instead of face to face — in the car, on a walk, doing the dishes. That's usually when it comes out.

Give your child's body a 'job' to do. For a lot of children, Choi Kwang Do is the thing that finally brings their Head, Heart and Hands into alignment.🥋

Most families enrol their child at Wembley Choi Kwang Do so that they can learn self defence. However, they stay for what Choi Kwang Do gives them everywhere else. 🥋

A child who has learned to listen the first time, wait their turn and finish what they started. These skills are not left on the dojang floor. They stay with them in school and in ALL aspects of their life.

Teachers notice it before anyone else.

Not many "jobs" allow you to watch somebody get braver. 🙏

Choi Kwang Do changes children. It gives a quiet one a voice, an anxious one a way to settle themselves and every one of them a place where effort counts far more than talent.

Thank you Diana for being part of Wembley Choi Kwang Do.

If you know a family sitting on the fence, tell them. It's worth it.
