😂 REA! WHAT HAS THAT BUCKET EVER DONE TO YOU?! 🪣🐴

Someone clearly wasn't happy with his feed today! 🤣

Rea has decided that kicking his bucket is the way forward… because apparently, waiting patiently just isn't an option! 😆❤️Bucket safely placed into a tyre ensures he eats his feed and added mud.

But did you know horses can kick their feed buckets for lots of different reasons? Excitement, impatience, frustration or simply because they've learned that making a racket gets attention!

Of course, we always keep an eye on these behaviours, because sometimes a change in behaviour can tell us something isn't quite right.

Here at Offham Track Livery, we love watching our horses being themselves. They all have their own little personalities, quirks and ways of communicating with us. ❤️

Rea, however, might need a little lesson in bucket manners! 😂🪣

Smartie decided it was time for a nice, relaxing roll… and of course, his brother decided to join in! 🐴😂❤️

Because why roll alone when you can have a brotherly rolling session together? 🥰

It's the little moments like these that make having horses so special. Just being horses, enjoying life and each other's company. ❤️🐎

Horses love exploring and nibbling on different things, and Annie is absolutely loving the fallen branches and leaves! 🍂😍

Varied, safe forage encourages natural browsing behaviour and can support gut health, while keeping our horses mentally stimulated too. ❤️

It's all about giving them the opportunity to be horses, just as nature intended. 🌳🐎

🌿🐴 Yes, parts of our track are bare — and that’s the point! 💚

Our aim is to encourage the horses to move, explore and forage, travelling between different areas to find their grass, hay and other resources, just as they would naturally.

A track isn't meant to be a lush green field from end to end. Bare sections are part of creating a varied environment that encourages movement throughout the day. 🌱

Of course, with a completely unsurfaced track, we have to manage things carefully, especially after all this rain, to keep it as safe and comfortable as possible for the herd.

It's about finding that balance between working with nature, encouraging natural behaviour and putting the horses' welfare first. ❤️

🌞 What a beautiful day! 🌿🐴

The horses that can are enjoying some time on the centres today, giving parts of the track a chance to dry out a little. ☀️

Our track is completely unsurfaced, which means it takes a little extra thought and management to keep it in the best condition possible for all the horses.

It’s all about working with nature, adapting to the weather and making the right decisions for the herd. 🌱💚

Track livery is always a work in progress, but keeping the horses happy, comfortable and moving as naturally as possible is what matters most. 🐎❤️

I’ve totally forgotten to update you all about our lovely Kenny ❤️🐴

Things with Kenny are a little more complicated than we first thought, and we still have a few unanswered questions.

He’s had a couple of days to settle back in at home, and he’s now gone back out with his boys. 💙
