Midas Miguel - 4 years old

Miguel is a genuinely joyful dog to be around. He's a great size at 33kg but doesn't utilise it as he is such a gentle boy. He loves his ears being tickled and any sort of attention, and will stand for hours being petted. He's very well socialised and gets on great with other dogs, he's fab with children of all ages and really would suit any home environment

Swift Omerta - 3 years old

What a beautiful girl our Omerta is! She is lovely and slender, with a beautiful shiny black coat. Her personality is very outgoing, she loves to be in the middle of everything and know what's going on

She's good with other dogs of all sizes and loves children, but only of the older variety. She is going to make a fantastic pet and has so much life to live and love to give!

Probably the biggest question we get asked here at Greyhound Trust Cumbria during home assessments is ‘Have the dogs been in a house before?’

The vast majority of times the answer is no but we want to highlight a couple of our boys today who have spent some time in a home. Both of them have recently been on home trials which didn’t work out through no fault of their own, and have both experience and some home training, but we did get some great feedback for them

7 year old who is one of our long stayers and definitely deserves his chance after some near misses recently - “He is a great boy, house trained and sleeps a lot and with the right family he would be amazing”

6 year old - “Left a light on for him overnight, came down to a bit of a mess this morning which is to be expected. Been out again this morning and he walked really well, had his breakfast and is now fast asleep. He’s already mastered the stairs and discovered my bed!”

Both boys are absolutely beautiful and immediately available, their individual descriptions can be seen on our website as below, any other questions or expressions of interest please contact us!

(T4) is in great form at the moment and she made it 2 in a row with a super late dash at the line. As usual she struggled to make much of an impact early on but as the race unwound she moved into position and got up from what looked like an impossible position in 29.24 🔥🔥

29/09/2026

There was a double for us on Saturday with another maiden winner kicking us off. The brilliantly named (T2) dug in really deep at the bend to hold her pitch, keeping herself just ahead of the pack down the back she ran away from them coming home to score in 29.73, at just 8 weeks out of season we think she has a lot more to come 💪🏻💪🏻

Classy Doll - 4 years old

Classy by name and classy by nature, she is a beautiful 4 year old black girl with a thick and luscious coat. She is very laid back, which can verge on shy to begin with, but once she shows her personality people fall in love with her

She's great with other dogs and children of all ages, she would make a fantastic family pet and fit into pretty much any situation

Our winner on Newcastle Greyhound Stadium Friday card was a maiden win for (T2) at the second attempt! It was in handicap company and she ran a blinder, quickly overtaking T1 she asserted herself by the bend and drew clear down the back, running on strongly enough to hold off the fast finishing T2 in a calculated 30.48 👏🏻👏🏻

Romeo Rockstar - 4 years old

Rocky is a beautiful 4 year old boy who has all the looks and he really knows it! His deep white chest and toe markings are very distinctive, and he's blessed with a lush shiny coat. He's a bigger boy at 35kg, but is a real softy at heart, he's great with other dogs and children, albeit older ones due to his size. He wouldn't be cat friendly, and does have plenty of energy but he soon calms down and is an absolute cuddle monster

BOYS BOYS BOYS!!

We’ve noticed a trend at Cumbria Greyhound Trust the last few months, nobody seems to want our boys! We’ve had lots of enquiries for the girls and they generally move on pretty quickly, but our boys are getting really overlooked!

It’s such a shame as we have some real beautiful males among our dogs looking for homes, whether it’s with his previous home experience, with his boundless energy (great for the fell walkers), or with his rockstar looks..!

There are a lot of misconceptions we hear about boys being harder work, too big for a home, more difficult to walk etc Each dog has their own characteristics and each and every boy we have available has the perfect home somewhere so why not get in touch to enquire about some of them

Drumnafern Blaze - 5 years old

Blaze is a beautiful black boy who has recently seen his racing career come to a natural end and he's excited for his retirement! He's a lovely chill boy, he takes everything in his stride and is very minimum fuss.

He's fantastic with other dogs and would thrive with a pal, or be equally happy as the only dog, he's fantastic with children of all ages and would fit pretty much any environment
