What a season it's been!

Massive congratulations to all of our award winners and to every player who put on the Green and White shirt this season! Your efforts and commitment helped make this yet another memorable season for the club!

Special recognition to our Shamrock Award winners, James Gallagher and Rudy Dear Jr, recipients of the clubs most prestigious award. This award represents everything York Shamrocks stands for both on and off the pitch and both thoroughly deserve to be the first names on it.

Thank you to all players, supporters and families for their efforts this season. We're not a football club, we're a community and proud of what we've built and the club represents!

Extra mentions to our biggest and long term supporters, now family Delrio's Restaurant York who without, none of this would be possible!

Now we have a little rest before we bounce back with an even bigger and better 2026/27 season!

UP THE SHAMROCKS! ☘️

☘️ FINAL RESULT OF 25/26 SEASON! ☘️

Shamrocks sign off the season with another hard fought point vs title contenders and cup finalists, Beckwithshaw Saints. That sees us finish the season on a SEVEN GAME unbeaten run!

Several key players were missing but the lads involved all stepped up and showed massive character to finish the season with a great positive display. We went into the half 2-0 down after two great counter attacking moves from Beckwithshaw from our corner and our throw in but in true rediscovered Shamrock spirit, the lads came out 2nd half a determined team to leave all we had left in us out there on the pitch before our season ended.

We got a lot more control over the game in possession after a few tactical tweaks and around 60 minutes in, Danny Stannard put a free kick in the bottom left corner to bring it back to 2-1. The smell of blood was in the air and the lads really took control of the half. The equaliser came via a Danny Stannard corner in which the ball fell through to who else at the minute but Boydy at the back post for another goal adding to his ridiculous goal scoring run of 6 in his last 4 from centre back / left back.

From there on, Beckwithshaw obviously desperate for a result really went for it with numbers flooding forward, they created chances but goal line clearances, big saves and blocks etc kept them out with us now relying on counter attacks to try and nick a winner! Neither a team managed one in the end and it was probably a fair result on the whole!

Good luck to Beckwithshaw for the remainder of the season and title run.

Great to see the main man down from Delrio's Restaurant York also supporting us in our final match of the season as his son also played a full 90 for us playing a huge part in securing the result!

☘️ SEASON FINALE! ☘️

This weekend sees us play our last fixture of the season at home vs Beckwithshaw Saints. Even though our league position has been secured due to an excellent unbeaten run of 6 games making us the most in form side in the league, we look forward to yet again another massive challenge vs a very strong side to hopefully conclude the season a high!

Get down if you can to support the lads one last time! Plenty is on at New Earswick Sports & Social Club on the day and the bar will be open!

☘️ MATCH RESULT! ☘️

The lads continue their impressive unbeaten run with a wide margin victory away from home! An unthinkable feat given how we started the campaign but full credit to the lads that stuck around, dug in and showed true Shamrocks character!

Thank you to all who attended for your support once again, you've really made the difference in us turning around our season and getting back on track!

☘️ THIS WEEKEND! ☘️

Absolutely HUGE fixture this weekend away vs Copmanthorpe. After an absolute nightmare of a first half to the season due to injuries and plenty of unfortunate circumstances, the lads have rallied truemendously in the second half of the season making 2026 one full of momentum and positives.

The job isn't over yet though, with 2 matches left in the season, this weekend is an absolute must win for us and full focus will be on taking the 3 points back to New Earswick.

☘️ MATCH RESULT! ☘️

The lads had another but final midweek fixture last night hosting high flying Cliffe FC who have had an unbelievable season thus far. However, given the squad we had available, we went into the fixture with full confidence we could cause an upset. The game, predictably, was an extremely tough one with physical battles all over the park throughout. Cliffe took a 2-0 lead, a great header swerving from well outside the post to just inside and a deflected effort after some chaos in the box but after some neat football, we pulled one back before HT.

The second half, cagey but one that suited us with nothing to lose. We defended extremely well and looked dangerous on the break and with set pieces. Eventually we found an equaliser with a lovely finish from Lewis Rouse bursting down the left and the match ended 2-2. A huge point for us.

Tomorrow the lads welcome Cliffe, fresh winners of the York FA Cup and a side competing for the league. In good form ourselves, the lads will hope to cause an upset at home and secure a valuable 3 points in what should be a great fixture.

☘️ MATCH RESULT! ☘️

The lads continued their good run of form securing our 3rd win in a row at home and remaining 4 unbeaten.

With a rare full squad of 16, we came out of the traps knowing we could afford to be aggressive with our energy levels and we're on top in all early exchanges. The breakthrough came through when a long throw caused mayhem in the box and the ball sat up for James Gallagher under pressure who brilliant swivelled and volleyed it into the back of the net. Several big chances followed and we should have really scored a few more but we went 1-0 in at HT with full control.

The second half we dominated a little more possession wise dictating the tempo well but knew we needed a second to avoid it being a nervy final third. Felt at times like one of those days but Reuben Smith played a lovely through ball over the top to Lewis Carruthers who latched onto it centrally, opening up his body to side foot it in the top corner on the half volley past the oncoming keeper. That gave us the second goal which allowed just to manage the game from there and that we did, keeping another clean sheet in the process.

Thank you to Stamford Bridge who are a great set of lads, left our away changing room spotless and stayed for a drink. All the best for your remaining fixtures.
