📢 | Volunteer of the year

The Guernsey Raiders Club only runs thanks to the substantial contribution of a large group of volunteers. These people are the unsung heroes who give up significant amounts of time to allow all our players to step out on the pitch each week and play the game they love.

We are delighted to this year award the Bruce Mansell trophy to Cedric Bail. Cedric leads our membership program and has gone above and beyond in establishing links with a number of French clubs, which came together in an amazing April evening, when our ladies hosted a combined team from SC Le Rheu and Stade Rennais.

Well done Cedric and thank you for everything you do!

🥺| Guernsey Raiders departure - Jamie Aureka Maoate-Dunn

Jamie Aureka Maoate-Dunn’s departure marks the end of his time with the club after a number of valuable seasons. He has been a committed and reliable member of the squad, contributing with professionalism, consistency, and a strong team-first attitude. His courage in facing adversity, particularly his battle with cancer, and the positivity he showed in working his way back to playing rugby, deserve immense praise and respect. He leaves with the appreciation of everyone at the club for both his contribution on the field and the example he set off it, and we wish him well on his next journey.

👏🏼 | Jordan says:

Sam Steventon sits in a special category for this club, alongside Malcolm Barnes and Doug Horrocks, as one of the biggest on-field influences in a debut season.
Early on, we weren’t quite sure if we’d signed a prop or a centre, such was his agility and impact in the loose. It didn’t take long to realise we had something special.
To reach 199 league appearances is a remarkable achievement, even more so in the front row. Week after week, Sam delivered with consistency, resilience, and an uncompromising edge that helped define this team.
Finishing as a winner feels like a very fitting end for such a significant player in the club’s journey.

End of the season saw retirement for a number of players. First time up is the Raiders legend that is Tom!!

After 18 seasons, Tom Ceillam calls time on an incredible journey.
375 league games, more than any player in the club’s history, a true testament to his durability, commitment, and love for the shirt.
Having coached Rae Rae for over 19 years, I’ve had the privilege of watching him grow, not just as a player, but into the great man he is today. His graft, loyalty, and pride have never wavered, always giving everything, no matter the moment. Players like this don’t come around often… and they’re impossible to replace.
Through every season, every challenge, and every big day, Tom set the standard for what it means to represent the club, someone teammates relied on, and coaches trusted completely.
It’s been a privilege to coach you every step of the way.
Thank you for everything, Tom, you’ve left more than memories, you’ve left a great legacy.
