# # Kassandra Wreck — A Journey Into History 🤿⚓

Some wrecks are more than just metal resting on the seabed… they are pieces of history waiting to be discovered. 🌊

Today we take you underwater to the legendary **Kassandra Wreck**, lying in the waters of southern Evia, near the tiny islet of **Akios Platourada**.

The Kassandra sank in **March 1973**, after running onto the rocky seabed. Today, decades later, what remains of the ship has become an incredible artificial reef and a home for Mediterranean marine life. 🐟🐙

Descending along the wreck, you can still see impressive parts of the old vessel, including sections of the hull and the engine-room area. The wreck sits upright on the sandy bottom, with the deepest parts reaching around **30 meters**.

But what makes this dive really special is the atmosphere…

The silence.
The history.
The feeling of swimming through a place where time seems to have stopped. 🤿

And of course, the Mediterranean has slowly taken over — fish, marine organisms and other creatures have made the wreck their home, turning an old ship into a living underwater world. 🐠🌿

🎶🤿 UNDERWATER DJ FOUND! 📻🌊

During one of our recent dives, we made a rather unusual discovery…

An old cassette radio, probably from the 80s or 90s, sitting quietly on the seabed for who knows how many years! 😂

And of course, our first thought was:

“Oh, look! It still works! The cassette is playing!” 🎶🤣

Well… we didn’t actually hear any music underwater, but our imagination immediately started working:

🎵 “Girls Just Want to Have Fun…”
🌊 …but divers just want to find old radios! 🤣

Maybe this was the first underwater radio station in Athens?
📻 “You’re listening to Dive FM — broadcasting live from the bottom of the sea!” 😂

The radio has definitely seen better days, but after spending decades underwater, it deserves a round of applause. 👏🌊

You never know what you’re going to find when you go diving…

One day it’s a beautiful fish. 🐟
The next day it’s an octopus. 🐙
And sometimes… your next underwater music player! 🎶🤿

🌊🚗 THE MYSTERIOUS UNDERWATER CAR CEMETERY OF LEGRENA 🐠🤿

There are places beneath the surface that feel like they belong in another world… and the underwater car cemetery in Legrena is definitely one of them. 🌊✨

Imagine descending into the blue and suddenly discovering old cars resting on the seabed, slowly becoming part of the underwater landscape. Over time, nature has taken over — the wrecks are covered with marine life, and they have become shelter for countless creatures. 🐟🪸

But what makes this dive truly special is not only the cars. Look around and you’ll discover an incredible diversity of Mediterranean marine life — schools of fish moving between the wrecks, curious creatures hiding in the shadows, and a fascinating underwater ecosystem developing around these unusual artificial reefs. 🐠🐙🦀
